Beat The Bots

I held Adora and Mira in my arms, they're bodies still as they lay unconscious on the ground.

"Adora, Mira, wake up. Please, wake up." I begged, but they didn't stir. I was a little more worried about Mira. Since she fell on top of Adora, she felt a little too warm, like she had a fever. But she was sleeping peacefully.

Entrapta tapped Adora's cheek with her hair, receiving no response.

"The tall one and the little one seem infected, too. She turned less tall snd the little one has developed a high temperature." Entrapta said, crouching down and measuring Adora with a tape measure, "How does it work?"

I glared at Entrapta, "They're not its. They're my friends. And what do you mean they're infected, too?" I asked.

Entrapta stood back up, "It's really fascinating. I've been experimenting with a disc recovered from a mine in Dryl. It was a game changer. It held more complete First Ones code than anything I'd ever seen before. But, it seems to have reacted with the First Ones tech that powers my bots. It infected them with some sort of a virus."

My eyes widened. Mira had told us that the bots had a virus. This all made sense, but how did Mira know that?

"But why would that make She-Ra and Mira sick?" I asked.

"Well, I'd have to take them apart to be sure." Entrapta said pulling out several tools from her belt. I held my friends closer.

"But since her sword is First Ones tech, it must've spread through that. For the little one, I'm not quite sure. She's definitely something to take further study on."

I gently set down my two friends and stood up, grabbing the scalpel from Entrapta's hair.

"First off, you're not taking them apart. They are people!" I shouted, "Second, if we destroy this disc, will that turn off the bots and stop the virus?"

"Destroy it? But the experiment isn't complete!" Entrapta argued.

"I think we can safely say this experiment is a failure." I said gesturing to the destroyed bot behind us.

"But what if it's no? No, you're right, it's a failure."

Just then, we heard two groans coming from the floor. I looked dowm and knelt to my knees to see Adora opening her eyes and looking around.

She spotted me and smiled, "Glimmer. There's two of you. That's nice." She said chuckling.

Mira however, didn't open her eyes. She still looked asleep and was groaning in pain.

I gently sat the two of them up, Mira leaning into Adora's chest and gripping her jacket and shirt tightly.

"How are you feeling?" I asked softly as to not alert the bots.

"Just peachy." Adora said, "Why are we whispering?"

"Sound activates the robots."

"What robots?" Adora's loud voice echoed against the walls.

"The ones that are attacking us!" I silenced her quickly.

"Oh, those robots. Okay, I'm gonna take a nap now."

"No, no, no. Stay awake." I said shaking Adora, "We have to go to Entrapta's lab and destroy this disc think, and then you and Mira will be all better again."

"Better? We're fine. We're She-Ra." Adora laugh and snorted, "Hi, Glimmer."

I looked back towards Entrapta, "Come on, we've gotta get to your lab. She's getting worse." I took my hand and pressed it against Mira's forehead, then quickly took my hand off of it.
