Forth POV

"What the hell is this place?" Beam complained. It's rare for us to agree but this time I'm with him.

The room was small and cannot be described as cozy. It had plain white walls, low hanging ceiling that it looked like it's going to swallow us alive. No furniture was in sight except for that old cabinet at yje corner and beds beside each walls with a side table in between them. Weather was freezing too.

"It smells like human shit!" Beam continued with his tirades while he threw the bag on the left-hand bed. "Do people really pay for this kind of hellhole?" He added while he scrunched his nose.

"Not everyone can pull up dough from their ears Beam." I commented sarcastically.

His gaze turned pointy. It can sever paper. He smiled for bit, "You really wanted to start the conversation about ears huh, Forth?"

My blood boilded and my hand automatically held my eyes for protection. I sat down and sighed. I just dropped my head and looked at my shoes, just so not to look at Beam. He chuckled softly, so I raised my gaze to see him.

"Dick." I whispered before I turned around to unpack my things in the the cabinet. But when I opened my back, I changed my mind.

"Many people said it's big." He answered. I froze a little then burst out laughing. I almost didn't hear Beam saying 'shut up'. He probably realized that there's something wrong with his response.

"Son of a bitch." He said before throwing a facetowel at me.

I cannot fathom why I joined Beam in this fieldtrip up North; or why I even agreed that we'll still be roommates even here. I won't have my three days from this guy's whims. Good thing we're joined by other people during the tour in the morning. I'll just sleep earlier at night to minimize our interactions. We're not classmates since we belong in different faculties but he have the same professor in this general subject. We have some friendly misunderstandings but I don't keep count.

I kinda miss Wayo because of this. Even though we have an on-off relationship since something happened between us, I was never this negative about life.

T/N: This author likes non-sequiturs.

Climate here in the Northe, especially during Januray is quite chilly. I have layers of clothes on but the cold still bites to my bone. You'll just curse repeatedly while you're freezing to death.

"Hoy Forth, if you don't like to sleep, let others sleep then, fucker."

I bit my tongue so I won't shake badly. "I can't help it. I-it's n-not my fault t-that I-I'm gonna daw now, shithead."

Beam growled while going topsy turvy on his bed, just to not feel cold and finally fall asleep. "I'm exchanging messages with Wayo. He said, we should sleep under one covers and share body heat to fight the cold. Is that okay?"

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I answered. I hugged my own knees. Fetal posution for maximum warmth.

"Uhmmm... err..." he coughed for a bit. This was the most awkward attempt at conversation from Beam. "So, no?" His words finally made sense.

I just ignored him. I closed my eyes and yried to sleep. But my shaking was tremendously uncomfortable so there's no chance that I'll be able to sleep immediately. I was startled when I head a loud thump then my blanket flew over my body.

FREEZING COLD!!!

"WHAT THE HELL BEAM, WHA--" my reaction was cut short when I felt the jerk lay beside me. He fixed the covers and laid with his back at me. I couldn't say anything but I wanted to diffuse the awakward silence but hot damn! The warmth was homey! Until I finally fell asleep amidst the blasting cold.
