Summary: During the time of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, five young individuals with unique skills wander into Chang'an, thus beginning a wuxia story as they venture into the Western Region.Shui Ge (Qin Junjie) is the only person to escape the massacre of his whole family. He receives the teachings of a revered master and goes to Chang'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty, to find a safe place to settle down. He becomes sworn brothers with Jin Ge (Wang Chuang), Yin Ge (Ran Xu), Tong Ge (Gao Haicheng) and Tie Ge (Cao Jun) and they brag about being chivalrous heroes. He also becomes lifelong friends with Sai Ma (Artemis Lou) and Ah Budu (You Haoran) who hail from the Persian Empire. The five men initially wanted to seek good prospects, but they mistakenly entered the house of Wang Yu Shi, not knowing that he is the backer of the Western Region gangs and their enemy from very the start.
