We continue to fall deeper and deeper. I can feel my ears pop as the pressure drops. We all continue screaming, letting out our fear.

"We're going down! We're going down!" Steve shouts.

"No shit, Harrington!" I shout back as I hold onto the racks.

Dustin screams nonsense as he presses every button on the panel. Erica moves over to him and shouts at him as he continues to scream and panic.

Suddenly we stop falling and we are jerked downwards. Steve falls as a box lands on him and I just hit my head.

"It fell on my groin. Dustin!" Steve calls. "Get this off of me!" He strains. Dustin lifts the box off and puts it on that table.

"Is everyone okay?" I ask as I hold my head.

"Yeah, I'm great, now that I know that Russians can't design elevators!" Steve shouts as he walks to the panel, pushing Dustin out of the way.

I stand up. "I think we've clearly established that those buttons don't work." I gesture to the buttons as Steve presses them over and over again in panic.

"They're buttons! They have to do something." Steve says.

"Yeah, if we had a keycard." I reason.

"A what?" Steve asks turning to me.

"It's an electronic lock. Same as the loading dock door. If we don't have a keycard, it won't operate, meaning-" I say as I walk over to the keycard scanner beside the panel.

"We're stick in here." Dustin finishes for me.

"Yeah." I say as Steve taps the panel door closed.

"Just so you nerds are aware, I'm supposed to be spending the night at Tina's, and Tina always covers for me. But if I'm not hime for Uncle Jack's party tomorrow and my mom finds out you three are responsible, she's gonna hunt guy down, one by one, and slit your throat." Erica says.

"I don't care about Tina! Or Uncle Jack's party!" Steve shouts. "Your mom's not finna be able to find us if we're dead in a Russian elevator!" I put my face in my hands.

"Hey." Dustin calls and he points up to the ceiling escape hatch. "What if we climbed out?"

We use boxes as a step stool for Dustin and he opens the hatch and climbs up, Steve following.

...

The length of the drop is way to high to climb. It's the next day and Dustin tries using his radio to contact anyone in range.

Steve and I stayed up a late last night talking to try to figure out a way to open up the door. We got nowhere.

I look at the panel and inspect it for a moment before turning around and noticing a stream of something on the wall.

I sigh in disgust when I realize what it is. "Can you redirect your stream, please?" I ask and they move. "Ugh." I cringe and look back at the panel before turning back around to a banging noise. Erica bangs one of the green goop cylinders on one of the metal barrels.

"Hey, hey! Be careful!" I say as I run to her and take the cylinder. "We don't even know what it is."

"Exactly. It could be useful." Erica reasons.

"Useful how?"

"We can survive down here a long time without food, but if the human body doesn't get water, it will die."

"I hate to break it to you, but this is not water."

"No, but it's a liquid, and if it comes down to me drinking that shit or dying of thirst , I drink." She smiles at me and I scoff. She takes it from me when I hear some kind of mechanical whirring sound from beyond the door.
