Josie's POV Ben's Apartment November 21, 2011 1:48 AM
"Shit, I forgot to grab some clothes from Jeremy's. Oh well, I can just wear this tomorrow." I said taking my coat off at Ben's.
"That works. You can sleep in one of my t shirts if you want." We went into his room and he started changing. "Here." He tossed me a solid green t shirt. I stepped into the bathroom and changed into the shirt. It hit at my mid thighs (perks of being short) and was baggy all around, but I loved it. I walked back out and Ben looked me up and down, breaking into a grin. "You look adorable!"
"I'm stealing this, just so you know." I climbed into the bed next to Ben.
"Go for it, it looks better on you anyways." He turned off the lamp on his nightstand and I scooted over towards him. He wrapped his arms around me and I laid my head on his chest. "This is perfect."
"It really is." Ben kissed the top of my head and I drifted off to sleep, more relaxes than I'd been in a while.
The Next Morning
When I woke up, I was laying where I had fallen asleep, but Ben was nowhere to be found. His side (kind of? we slept on top of each other) was cold, so I knew he'd been up for a while.
"Ben?" I got out of bed and walked back into the living room.
"I'm in here!" I went into the kitchen, where Ben was standing over the stove. "I hope you like chocolate chip pancakes."
"You know me too well." I said, hugging him from behind. He turned around and kissed me, a faint taste of chocolate on his lips. "You've been eating the chocolate chips, haven't you?"
"How'd you know?" He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "How'd you sleep?"
"Better than I have in a while. You?"
"Same. I guess we're just better together." He kissed me again, turning back to the pancakes. "You should turn on some music. I think there's an Ed Sheeran CD over there." (my god all this old tech. i just want him to be like 'alexa, play ed sheeran' and be done but noooo it's 2011) I went over to the CD player and put in Ed, hitting the shuffle button. Kiss Me cam on first, and I turned it up so Ben could hear. I went back in the kitchen and he held out his hand. "Dance with me."
"I was hoping you'd say that." I took his hand and he started leading me around the kitchen, swaying to the music. I pressed myself as close to him as I could, taking in the moment.
"Have you ever had one of those moments that you know you're going to remember for the rest of your life?" Ben asked as the song ended.
"Yeah."
"I think this is one of them." Ben leaned down and kissed me softly.
"Me too." After we ate breakfast, I put my clothes from yesterday on, getting ready to go back to my apartment. "I should probably go back home and put on some fresh clothes." I said, sitting down on the couch next to Ben, who was still in his pajamas.
"You can come back if you want. Last night was our last show until whenever we open, so I've got nothing to do but sit around all day." he replied, grabbing the remote off the coffee table.
"Okay. I've got to do some grocery shopping first, but I'll be back." I stood up and pecked Ben's lips, grabbing my coat and heading out. When I got home, I took a quick shower and brushed my teeth. After I had done fresh makeup, I opened my closet to figure out what to wear. That's when I remembered the t shirt in my bag. I put it on, tying it in a knot above the waistline of my jeans. As I grabbed my purse to go to the store, I looked up at the half empty shelf beside my TV. Sitting on it was the tube of green glitter, the flamingo, and yellow bow tie (installment three). I went to the store, grabbing some essentials that I knew I'd need for the next week. I was walking down an isle when I passed a rack of toothbrushes. I stopped, mulling it over before grabbing two.
Back at Ben's
"Hey, I'm back!" I called as I walked into Ben's unlocked apartment.
"Hey!" He met me at the door, giving me a kiss as I set down my stuff. "I like your shirt."
"Thank you. That reminds me, I actually got you something while I was at the store. Kind of."
"Oh?"
"Yeah." I pulled a white toothbrush out of my coat pocket.
"A toothbrush? Are you implying that I have bad breath?" Ben asked jokingly.
"No! I got it so I can have one here. I got white since I don't have a favorite color yet. There's a green one at my place for when you stay over."
"Josie that's a great idea! Come with me." He grabbed my hand a drug me to the bathroom. "This will stay right here." He dropped the toothbrush in the holder right next to his.
"This is a pretty big step, isn't it?" I asked, hugging his waist from the side.
"The biggest. Unless you count all the other big steps." Ben laughed and kissed the top of my head.
