AHHH! i can't believe we're at the end! i'll probably do an epilogue in a few but OH MY GOD this is insane. i'll go on more of a rant later, but here, have the chapter.
Josie's POV The House February 16th, 2020 8:47 PM
"Thanks for letting us all crash here." Kara said as all the kids played in the floor.
"It's your birthday, and as your best friend it is my obligation." I replied, giving her a joke salute.
"Mommy, I tired." Kade whined, laying his head in my lap.
"Do you want to go night night?" He gave a sleepy nod, so I set him on my lap. "Are there any other kiddos that need to be put to bed?" I asked all the parents, looking at all the little sleepy faces.
"Mine's already out, so can I put her in Ally's room until we head home?" Jeremy responded, motioning to Clara, who was asleep on his chest.
"Of course. Everyone grab a kid, let's go." I had felt Kade drop off with his head on my shoulder, so Ben got Ally. Kara picked up Emerson and Meghan and Corey got their boys, and all of us made the trek upstairs. I went into Kade's room, laying him down in his bed. Corey laid Elliott down next to him, and Emerson and Nathaniel were in someone's Pack-N-Play. We all went back into the hall, and Jeremy and Ben came out of Ally's room. "That was surprisingly easy." I chuckled. We all went back downstairs, to where everyone else was.
"So while you guys were being parents and all, I had an idea." Scott said, rearranging how he was sitting.
"Pray tell." Kara replied, seemingly very interested.
"So as we all know, Andrew used to post a bunch of videos of all of us on youtube. What if we went back and watched them all?"
"Oh my God I love that!" Tommy exclaimed.
"That's an amazing idea!" Ashley yelled.
"Hey, um, before we do that, I kinda feel like Ben and I should tell you guys something." I said, looking over at him for reassurance. He gave a slight nod and I turned back to the group. "So, you guys know that we wanted three kids. Well, at the tail end of December, we found out we were expecting again. We were both super excited, and trying to figure out how to tell everyone. But um, then we uh..." I took a breath, trying not to cry. "We lost the baby."
"Jos..." Meg sighed, knowing what we were going through. Since I was sitting next to her, she pulled me into a tight hug. "It's going to be okay, I promise. Just hold your two kiddos a little bit tighter." I nodded. That was something I had been doing for a couple weeks.
"Anyways, let's all cheer up with these videos!" I said, wiping my misty eyes. We pulled up the first one, from 2012, up on the TV. "Summer 2012, let's go."
