IT'S BEEN A WEEK SINCE rosalie and cody started dating. the day she got back from los angeles, she ran into rudy first. he congratulated her, rosalie asked him why he called and why he didn't pick up the phone when she tried to call him back that night at dinner. according to him, 'he was busy with chase and madelyn, but the call wasn't anything important.'
today was rudy's birthday. although, everyone had to work. chase decided on throwing rudy a party after shooting. of course rudy being completely clueless of the whole party. thankfully jonas left them off early around 5pm. it was rosalie's job to keep him occupied.
which is why he was in her bedroom, waiting for her to finish getting ready, so the two could go grab some dinner and go on a long walk. seeing as there isn't much to do in daniel island, which is where they were staying at while filming.
"why do girl always take so long?" rudy groans as he lays back on rosalie's bed
rosalie chuckles from the restroom as she finishes straightening her hair "do you really want me to look ugly?"
"you couldn't be ugly even if you tried" rudy answers as rosalie smiles softly

"so your birthday is coming up" rudy nudges the girl who was walking next to him along the beach
"mhm" she smiles softly
"lay it on me" he tells her as she furrows her brows "what do you want for your birthday?"
"see when people always ask me this, my mind literally goes blank" she chuckles softly along with rudy
"come on there has to be something you've always wanted" he continues
rosalie thought to herself for a few seconds "a puppy"
"a puppy? really?" he chuckles
"yeah" she smiles "i know today's your birthday and i'm sure you liked the ring i gave you, but lay it on me" she says mocking his words "what do you want for your birthday"
rudy grins slightly as he debates on saying his choice of words, but he goes with his heart "you"
rosalie felt butterflies flying around inside of her, she smiles softly as she looks onto the ground. rudy with one hand reaches out to intertwine their hands, with his other he places it under her chin, lifting it so their eyes could meet
"rudy-
he cuts her off "do you remember last week, when you asked me why i called?" she nods her head "i-i...i called but you didn't answer, so i was recorded a voice mail for you, but as i was about to send it, chase came into my room showing me the picture you and cody took, you both looked so happy, especially you. so i deleted the voicemail"
"what did you say?" she asks curiously
"i said, these past three months i kept telling myself i could let you go, but the truth is i can't. i keep thinking what if i never let you go? what if i fought for you? would we be together?"
rosalie felt her heart tug, her eyes glossing "i know it's selfish of me to say this, but rosie i can't let you be happy with someone who isn't me. i know you feel something, just like i do. this is more than just two people acting. i know we've only known each other for 5 months, but rosalie, i have feelings for you and i'll be damned if i don't at least try to fight for you" he finishes as he lowers his hand down to her cheek, slowly starting to lean in
rosalie's heart started beating rapidly. "rudy—
"tell me you don't feel something rose, tell me and i'll stop" rudy whispers to her as he's inches from their lips touching
"we should get going" rosalie pulls back as she starts walking away
"rose" rudy calls out
"i still have one more place i want to take you" she tells him as she glances over at him
"come on, rose" rosalie continues to walk away slowly "we're more than friends, rosalie"
rosalie stops and slowly turns around to face him "we've already had this conversation"
"i know" rudy says as he walks up to her "i know. but if i've learned anything this last week, it's that i don't want to be dishonest. i'm sorry, but i don't want to be just friends"
"rudy, your friendship is the best thing in my life right now. why risk that?" rosalie shrugs
"a chance of something even better" rudy answers
"but-but what if—
rudy cuts her off "what if..." taking a few step in front of him to come face to face with her "what if i told you i'm in love with you?" rosalie's heart stop, a smile forming on her face "what if...i kissed you right now? if you don't want me to kiss you, you better say something"
rosalie's head told her to say something, but her heart told her not to. what's the saying? listen to your heart and not your head? maybe it was because this is what she's wanted all along, but she went with her heart
rudy grabbed ahold of her cheek and leaned in, capturing their lips. rosalie hesitates at first, but she slowly gives in
