THE HIDDEN BOND

Vidhya was about to open the door when someone was already knocking on it requesting entry.  Both Vidhya and gunny got tensed.  Gunny sensed vidhya's tension .
Gunny(in a soothing tone) :Gabrao math cadet.  Koi orderly YA major Sharma hogi.
Vidhya(raised her eyebrows) : major Sharma!?
Gunny: If you are so afraid go and hide under that table.
Vidhya looked from the place gunny pointed to gunny.
Gunny got confused with the glares of Vidhya. He immediately glanced down the table and spotted his pair of socks and his towel lying down there. Gunny felt embarrassed seeing that. Vidhya started smiling seeing the innocent antics of gunny.
Vidhya (mischievously) :sir, aapko nahi lagthi  ki at least to serve this purpose you are in need of a company?
For once gunny felt that Vidhya was isn't that innocent or immature as she seemed. However she was she did look very cute. For once the Indian army's sharpest shooter felt week and distracted.  Gunny did not have enough time to find out the reason for his weakness around Vidhya as there was already his visitor at his door.
Gunny fastened to open the door without glancing back,  hoping Vidhya would have taken her position under the table to avoid any suspicions.

A huge surprise was awaiting gunny as he unfastened the bolt of his door.  The man to whom he was dead 16 years back was standing there. He wasn't the man who orders him with that uniform on in present but it was a picture of the man 16 years back in his night clothes who used to visit Gunny's bedroom in the dark to kiss him a fatherly good night. Gunny got glued on his foot right there. He was going under an instant dilemma of how to treat the man right before him?  He dint think about it till today because till date that man was just his senior officer who used to boss him around with those stars shining on his shoulder badge. But today he was there in his casuals. Was he earning for Gunny's love. Should he greet him as 'sir' or 'dad'? Where did his anger and hatred for this man melt away when he stands before him. This man on whom he holds so much of hatred that he refused and abandoned  his name which is his rightful surname. His name which was once Gunraj Singh Gaur was changed to Gunraj Singh randhawa because of one and only this man. Mgg understood the trauma gunny was under. He cleared his throat to bring gunny out of his stream of thoughts.

Mgg: Good evening Capt.
Gunny(stammering): why did you take the pain to come this far sir.  If you would have called I would have come to your cabin. 
Mgg for once felt guilty that he abandoned such a lrecikus son who loved him even now.  Even after getting kicked out by his dad.  Already the guilt of separating two brothers was eating him from inside.
Mgg: you won't invite me inside captain?
That was a fatherly order that gunny wasnt  able to deny. Gunny was tensed about two things. firstlyabout Vidhya who was hiding in there and secondly about the condition of his room which was a subject of objection for his strict disciplined father. Without great hesitation gunny gave way for Mgg to enter.  To his surprise the room was highly cleaned and organized. Things where there in their right place.  Gunny got surprised.  He guessed it would have been vidhya's work. Vidhya smiled seeing Gunny's relieved face. Mgg chuckled to himself.
Mgg: kabse ithna sudhar gayi Capt randhawa?
Gunny(smirking): Kya Karen sir.  Zindagi  hamein Wo saari cheez Sikha dhethi jo hum seekhna hi nahi chahthe.
Mgg(ignored gunny) : shayadh pyaar bhi Sikha dhethi.
Gunny: pyaar kuch nahi sikayegi. Sirf  aur Sirf dhard dhethi.
Mgg : Haan dhethi jab thum pyaar karnewalon ko dhardh hoga. Waise lagtha hai ki thumhare maa ko bahu ki jarurath nahi.  For once I don't regret my decision.
Gunny: kaunsa decision?
Mgg: bas kuch nahi. There is a mission for you Capt. That mission on which you have been working for two years informally is now officially yours.  You have been officially assigned with the mission to catch the country's most wanted informer.  EAGLE.
is mission mein major Sharma aur Capt chauhan thumhe assist karenge.  Cadet saxena thum Bahar aa sakthi hai.
Vidhya and gunny both got tensed.
Mgg: I know it's a violation of academy rules.  But I trust you Capt randhawa.  I guess cadet is here to inform you something.  ( to Vidhya)  I cannot blame you for this insecurity cadet. ( smirking  eyeing gunny) there are so many people in this world who are masters in misunderstanding or rather cannot find the positivity among the negativity of the situation.
Gunny(expressionless): only if the person can explain what is his point of  positivity the other person can understand.
Mgg:  some things cannot be expplained Capt.  Something things has to be self understood.
Vidhya felt sandwiched between the father son indirect quarrel. She thought they needed some personal time to sort out things between them. She excused herself and left from there.
Mgg grabbed the opportunity to fulfil his mission of visiting gunny.
Gunny: I beg your pardon sir. I already know that piece if information and I believe you know that I know this too. So now that we are alone can you tell me what is that confidential information.
Mgg: how's your mother Capt?
Gunny got shocked . Seeing the shocked face if gunny.
Mgg: I heard that she went under a heart surgery.  Is she alright now?
Gunny: yeah.  Ab vo teek hai.
Mgg( realising he cannot hold it no longer): bas Karo Capt. You very well know why I came here. I want you to train rummy by giving him a lot of punishments. He's really spoiled.  I want you to train not as his teacher but by considering him as your own brother.
Gunny: yahin aap Mujhe chod dhiya Iska mathlab yeh nahi ki rummy mere chote bhai nahi hai.
Mgg : enough Capt.  If you know why I did that you will not stab me everytime with your poisonous words .
Gunny: then tell me what it is?
Mgg: I cannot now.. But just trust me it's important. I still care for you and your mom . Why can't you understand the pain of a father seeing his son this spoiled.
Gunny : no sir, I dont understand because I never had a father.
Mgg wasn't  able to bare this anymore. He hurried out if Gunny's room with tears rolling down his eyes.
Nair the sniffing dog noticed this. He confirmed that there was something more than the relationship of a senior officer and a capt between these two.

He immediately called bhargav and informed him.
Bhargav : don't put too much of pressure on yourself major.  I am coming to Kma in two days. Wait for the main picture..
