Matthew's POV

Riiiing... Riiiiing... Riiiiingg

Peaking a heavy eyelid open I come face to face with my phone which continued to flash and vibrate against the white bedside table infront of my now fully awake eyes

Bolting upright I stretch my limbs out, shaking the sleep off of me as a wide grin stretch across my lips

Turning to the other side of the bed

"Good mor—"

My smile quickly vanishing into a frown as I stare at the empty unmade space in confusion and disappointment

Don't tell me she haven't gone back to bed and still talking on her phone?

I woke up at sometime around 2 am earlier when I felt her moving out of my embrace disrupting my sleep as she answered her blaring phone. And she did assured me that she'll go back before I know it.... yet she hadn't come back til now.

And its already 6:35

I slip out of the large king sized bed ro search for my wife

Yes my wife... we had gotten married for almost a year this upcoming month.

September 17th—the same date as when Zaia's granparents married. While the location was on my hometown, in London at Syon park where we made it as simple as Zaia's mother definition of simple

I sighed when I heard muffled voice coming from her personal office room right next to our room

This routine of her waking up in the middle of the night to work was really becoming her routine I completely do not approve of

"—at do you mean it disappeared?!. No. Get it done by now... I said." Her voice deepened as her body visibly shake in anger "I Want. It. Done... Now."

Note that she isn't yelling or even cursing the person on the phone yet

The low yet threatening seethe and quiet hissing in her tone mixed with the venom and malice behind her words would already make you pass out in fear

Typing the password on the screen next to the door knob the capital letters of UNLOCKED flashed before I twist the knob

Extra security measures... Zaia's words not mine

she hadn't heard me, open the door, come inside and neither did she heard me close the door. Might be because she was too preoccupied on spitting orders laced with venom on her sleek black phone while holding her large Ipad a the same time

It had already been a minute or two and she still hadn't noticed me leaning on the door as I silently watch still standing infront of her desk looking very stressed and very angry even with her silk black robe clad back facing me.

"—I don't care if no ones awake at this goddamn hour.. I haven't slept a single goddamn wink for a solid two weeks making sure the transact will execute smoothly without any fucking complications and you expect me to wait for all of you to wake up from your fucking slumber?"

Blowing out a breath through my nose I chose this moment to embrace her tense body from behind as she listen to the terribly stuttering voice of a guy on the phone
