Machina's POV

Rem: Machinaaaaa

Me: Whattttt

Rem: You busy??

Me: I have an hour before my next client

Rem: Okay okay, I'm coming over!

I set my phone aside, going through my files for a while until the door burst open. My overly cheerful sister smiling.

"Hi Machina, I Brought you food." She said, setting a bag down onto my desk. I smiled faintly, peaking into the bag to see what it was.

"Thank you. How was your visit with dad and daddy?"

"It was good. Both are doing fine. Daddy's been real busy with some cases so I didn't really get to see him. Both of them wish you could've drove down to see them with me."

"I know. And I'm sorry, but I can't simply neglect my patients."

"I know I know and both of them understood. Your work is important. Oh! Dad and I went and got you somethingggg." She said, reaching into her bag and handing me a small box. I raised my brow and took it, opening the top and pulling something out that was wrapped in tissue paper. Once the tissue paper was off, I gave a small and amused chuckle at the mug in my hand.

"Really, a '#1 Psychiatrist' mug? Where'd you two even get this."

"Well there weren't really in any stores.. BUT dad and I went out and got a mug and then we painted the words on. Do you like it?"

"Yes I do, I'll be sure to call dad and let him know I got it."

"Perfect, okay I gotta go I have a teacher's meeting soon. I'll call you later!" She said, reaching her hand out in temptation to ruffle my hair like she would when we became teenagers. I gave her a warning look, her laughing as she pulled her hand away.

"Okay fine you win, I'm going." She said, patting my shoulder and leaving. I smiled slightly with a sigh. I loved my sister, but it would be rather lacking in professionalism if my client were to walk in and my hair would be a mess. And I have found it is much harder to fix it once it has been styled already.

Rem's POV
Finally that meeting was over. Not that I didn't love my job, but some parts were more boring than others. I headed home to my apartment and walked in, being greeted with my roommate laying on the couch. She sat up, smiling and waving at me.

"Hey, finally off?"

"Mhm! Long and boring like normal but eh, whatcha gonna do?"

"You get to see your brother?"

"Yeah, but he had another client coming in so I had to scramble." I said, slipping my shoes off. My roommate smiled faintly at me as she got up and stretched.

"He's always so busy. You ought to invite him for dinner some time. He doesn't really cook, does he?"

"He does and he can. He's actually pretty good. Our dad taught us, but Machina also doesn't really like to cook."

"Well then, I'd say dinner over here would be a good treat. Now, I gotta go I have a blind date and I need to still get ready."

"Another blind date?"

"Yeahhhh last one was a complete bust. Stupid, arrogant alpha asshole." She grumbled to herself while marching off to her room. I laughed, rolling my eyes and cleaning up. Listening to her complaints about her previous date from down the hall. Once I assured her she looked good, she ran off.

I never really considered finding myself an alpha. My brother and I were both omegas, but he and I never really discussed mates. Sometimes I worried he was still traumatized or bothered by what happened to him before my daddy had found him in that dirty.. disgusting hotel. I remember he used to be kinda scary. He was always way to interested in dangerous stuff like scissors or knives. He even found blood amusing, or at least intriguing.

But, my dad spent all his energy into helping and taking Machina to specialists and doctors. And things have been pretty quiet from there. Machina took a huge interest in psychology, which made sense. He used to call me up when he was in school and tell me about the different psychological thoughts and advances that predatory people or serial killers had. It was interesting and all, and good things to know and be able to recognize, but it just never piqued my interest career-wise.

I always looked up to my dad, and I still do. So I decided I was going to be a teacher like him. Yeah it was hard work and a few of the little kids I had were nightmares and constantly in time out. But the rest was worth it. Oo, I certainly hoped that once Asahi and Nishinoya had their baby and they were grown up a little I'd get to teach the little one. My dads were both good friends with Asahi in high school, and sometimes he'd visit with Noya. I was little so I normally just ran away to my room with Machina to play or talk.

As I got older though, I finally had the mind to properly meet my dads' friends. And Asahi was really sweet. He's scary looking but I don't think he could even hurt a fly. His husband was the complete opposite of him though. He was pretty tiny and was always wayyyyy to excited over things. Which I don't mind, guess I can be like that now sometimes too!
