This Puja is also known as Vishwakarma Jayanti, Vishwakarma Diwas or Vishwakarma day in various parts of India.
Lord Vishwarkarma is a Hindu God and a divine architect and is belived to be the person who created this universe.
Vishwakarma Puja is celebrated on the last day of Bengali Bhadra month and is also known as ‘Bhadra Sankranti’ or ‘Kanya Sankranti.

Story / Myth Behid the celebration.
▪️According to the Hindu mythology, Lord Vishwakarma is said to have constructed the Holy city of Dwaraka which was ruled by Lord Krishna. He is also said to develop very powerful and unique weapons for the God. It is believed that he has developed the Mahasabha of Pandavas.
▪️Lord Vishwakarma is believed to be the main architect of the Universe. He is the son of the creator, Lord Brahma and is the official architect of all the Palaces where the Gods reside. He is also said to be the designer of all the flying chariots and weapons of the Hindu Gods.
▪️According to another story, Lord Vishwakarma is believed to be born out of Ocean churning. And as per the Puranas, He was the divine architect who designed Heaven (Swarga), Lanka, Hastinapur and Indraprastha.

The Vishwakarma Puja is celebrated across different states in India. Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Assam, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Tripura are some of the places where Vishwakarma Puja is celebrated.
How Vishwakarma Puja is celebrated?
On this day, puja and rituals are performed at workplaces and at temples. The idol of Vishwakarma is kept overnight along with puja ingredients. All the instruments are cleaned before Puja and people perform the ritual facing towards the east.They chant mantras and lit Akhanda Diya and perform the aarti. Àarti is then taken to the room where machines are placed in order to acquire blessings for these machines and to ensure that no accidents occur in the future. People Apply turmeric paste, vermilion, akshat and flowers on the machines that are worshipped on Vishwakarma Puja.
These rituals are done as people think it brings good luck. The workers then seeks the blessings of Lord Vishwakarma. Nowadays, even the electronic machineries, computers and servers in companies are worshipped during the Puja. The next day in the morning, the idol is immersed in the water.
On the day of Vishwakarma puja, in many states of India such as Bihar and West Bengal kite flying is celebrated. Colourful kites cover the whole sky. Several kite festivals are also organized on this occasion. It is a festival of belief and joy.
