Chapter 29

(Ava's POV)
"Hey Lucas" I look him in the eyes before looking away "I-I-I know that I've b-been go-ne a-a long time" I fiddle with my fingers looking down at them

"Where the hell have you been?" Zack was the first to speak

"I-I've been away" I whisper

"Thank you, Captain, obvious" Tom pipped in I watched him roll his eyes in the corner of my eye

"Where's Callie?" Zack questioned stepping forwards. Lucas has yet to say anything

"S-she's de-ad" I hold back my tears and brush my hair out of my face

"Wha-tt?" Zack stuttered "How? Why? W-what?" He questioned in a mess

"Ask the moron with a bullet in his leg" I say with some anger

"Asshole" Zack stormed out without even really saying anything about me being back

"Zack" Tom chased after Zack. All the other guys had taken everyone out and it was just Lucas and I left. Alone, for the first time in four years

"Look, I know I left. I know I messed up, I was running away from things and feelings I could not or did not want to deal with. And you were forcing me to do something I did not want; you cannot do that. It's not how life works" I rant throwing my hands in the air and face him finally, he was closer than before

"I know what I did and said was wrong and I learned that. I have spent the last four years wishing I could say sorry, wishing I could re-do what I messed up. I've missed you so much it hurts" he was getting closer to me the more he spoke

"They why didn't you come for me? Why did you find me? Where were you? What happen to 'if you run, I will always find you?' YOU NEVER CAME FOR ME!" I snapped

"I looked for you! Everywhere"

"Clearly you didn't look hard enough! I was always out in plain sight. I was right there, waiting for you to come and rescue me and sweep me off my feet. And when they took Callie, I was waiting for you and Zack to come rescue her and me again" I screamed pointing my finger in his chest

"Look at you Ava! You have changed! We are not seventeen anymore or in high school. you are twenty-one and I am twenty-two. You have black hair now! I couldn't have known about what was happening" He shot back, I got into his face

"She was dying, and no one was there like there always is. I though you would have tracked us down in three months considering you are the number one gang in the world. But I guess you did not love me enough like I though or you said. You really haven't changed" I spun around and started walking away

"Ava" his voice sent chills through my bones and stopped, I felt him wrap his arms around my waist "Don't go, I can't lose you. Not again" he spun me around to look him in the eyes

"I think you already have" I removed his hands and walked out. Not looking back

Wow what a roller coaster. This made me tear up a little not going to lie and IM THE ONE WHO WROTE IT!!
