Chapter Four: Quite A Sweetheart

Still trying to shake off the weirdness from lunch, I slung my backpack over my shoulder after the last bell rang.

It was officially after school and I was gonna go out with Logan today. I wondered where it was going to be. Someplace cool, probably.

I was walking down the school steps when I felt someone next to me and I saw Logan out of the corner of my eye.

                        "Hi," I said shyly.

                        "Hey," Logan replied.

"Where we going, if you don't mind me asking?" I asked.

"Anywhere you want. I'm sorta still new to the area," Logan said.

                        "You are?" I asked.

"I moved here the beginning of senior year," Logan answered.

"Oh. Well, there's one place. And I know it's kiddy but I was wondering if we can go to Fun Land," I suggested.

                        "Perfect. No prob," Logan agreed.

"I love you so much!" I exclaimed.

I gave Logan a long hug before quickly letting go and jumping into Logan's car.

During the ride, it was silent for a while until I started playing with the radio station and heard Tove Lo's "Habits". I hummed a little before eventually singing along, earning an amused look from Logan.

When we arrived, I skipped all the way to the door [cuz I'm such a kid] and as Logan payed for tickets, I was thinking about how to beat his butt at my favorite racing game when my phone buzzed in my pocket. Without looking at the caller ID, I answered.

                        "Hello?" I answered.

"Where in the fudge are you?" Hunter asked.

"I am out with Logan since you wanted to be an ass and trying to instigate shit," I answered.

"I'm sorry, Ana. Please forgive me. Say you're feeling sick or something. I want to see you," Hunter begged.

"Goodbye," I said before hanging up.

Walking back to Logan, he had tickets in his hand.

                        "Are you ready?" Logan challenged.

"Ready like your aunt Freddy," I answered.

"I don't have an aunt named Freddy," Logan said, confused.

"Its a joke I made up," I explained.

Logan nodded slowly and we went off to play games.

{CUE MUSIC FOR THE CHAPTER: KARMIN- HELLO}

Logan and I were playing Super Mario Kart and so far, I was whooping his ass.

"Oh my God. You're never going to let me win," Logan replied in defeat.

"I am the master of Super Mario Kart. Says so on the scoreboard," I said triumphantly.

"Are you hungry?" Logan asked suddenly.

"Are you trying to get out of me whooping your ass?" I asked.

                      "Yeah," Logan admitted.

"Ooooooohhhhhhhhhh, I love honest guys. And as for the whole hungry part, yes I am. Do not believe the rumor that girls don't eat on dates," I said.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind," Logan said with a laugh.

We both decided on simply ice cream. I got vanilla and Logan got chocolate. After the whole Super Mario Kart experience, Logan asked if we can leave and I said yeah. I didn't want to torture poor Logan with my skills.

Looking at the sky, it was a pinkish orange and it looked so awesome and just beautiful.

"Can we go to the beach?" I asked.

"Yeah. It looks so cool outside," Logan answered.

*+*+*+*

Logan and I were sitting on the beach, just staring at the sun. We'd done this for about ten minutes now and it wasn't an uncomfortable silence. It was nice and peaceful.

"Can I ask you something?" Logan asked.

                      "Sure," I answered.

"This Hunter guy...are you two together or something?" Logan asked.

"He's my best friend. I'd never do that. Especially with him. He's just a bit overprotective is all," I lied.

"Oh cool. Cuz I don't know you that well and even though we met only yesterday, I like you. I really like you. And I'm hoping you feel the same," Logan said.

I looked at Logan, my heart breaking with his words. I felt so bad lying to him. I really liked him too. But I didn't want to string him along in my problems. In my mess.

"I do. I really do. I was sorta scared. I mean, I never really liked someone before and you know, I was hoping you'd like me too. You're quite a sweetheart," I said with a small smile.

                      "Thanks," Logan said.

Seeing it as a perfect opportunity, I leaned forever and kissed Logan. It was soft and sweet.

And we just stayed like that forever.
