Snow

Barefoot on pavement,

shorts and sweaters in the snow.

Toes freezing,

snow angels linked,

eating the same snowball.

Building an aisle,

a hoopa,

two snowgirls at the end,

holding hands,

wearing rings of golden grass.

(she doesn't see the blood

spattered on the road)

Frostbitten legs,

warm cider in our hands,

watching the sunset from the roof.

Dropping the rose thorns on the ground,

walking away,

never looking back.

Feeling like our love

could melt the snow

landing in our eyelashes.
