previously on fanboy...

jungkook and hoseok go to the abandoned factory and find the culprit's hideout. they find a photo collage, a notebook with a missing pen, and hundreds of coffee cups. the photo of the last victim was missing and the boys found that weird.
as soon as hoseok mentioned that the serial killer is probably lactose intolerant, jungkook understood it must be soobin...

it was soobin.

"tell the police to go to soobin's house." jungkook said in a hurry and was about to leave the room.

"what? what does soobin have to do with anything?" hoseok questioned, looking at jungkook with uncertainty.

"it is soobin." jungkook responded quietly. hoseok's eyes expanded as he stared at jungkook silently. "he is the culprit."

"b-but... howcome? what made you think that?" he was confused and frightened.

"I don't think that, hoseok, I know it." jungkook gave hoseok a reassuring glance and gestured him to walk out of here.
"it's everything. soobin had built a steady wall of trust between us and lured me into his trap of deception."

hoseok was a little skeptical about it all, but he was nobody to judge jungkook's thoughts, after all, he barely knew anything about soobin unlike jungkook who has been friends with him for a long time.
"this is so... out of the blue, you know?" hoseok said as they moved past the dark hallways, where cockroaches and woodlice scattered from slightest rays of light.

"hobi." they stopped.
"you believe me, right? because... I do not know if I am even right... deep down I wish to be wrong." jungkook's voice came out weak and broken. "I am terrified and bewildered, I don't want to admit that a person I've trusted, for like, the half of my life turned out to be the one to have betrayed our friendship, me, and just–"

"hey." hoseok placed his hand on the younger's shoulder. "I understand you, I know what you feel. it's like between yoongi and I, when I thought he was the serial killer, I also experienced all those horrible feelings that seemed to have crushed me from the inside. for now, we cannot be a hundred percent sure, but it's our job to get to his house right now and take him in as a suspect."

"mhm..."

"just... don't make the same mistake I've done – don't interpret feelings into a job like this. yes, as a friend you care for him and wish for him to be innocent, but if you feel deep down that his innocence was fake, then listen to that inner voice."

"yeah, you're right. and most importantly, we should be sure of this first, so let's get going." jungkook's little smile faded after he heard weird sounds and footsteps from the exit.
they quieted down and covered their flashlights with their hands, looking in the direction of the sound. hoseok slowly reached for the gun in his back pocket.

"detective jung?"

"oh god, inspector lee, don't scare us like that!" hoseok exhaled and jungkook chuckled. "has everyone arrived here already?"

"yes, detective, are you two alright?" the inspector asked.

"eveything is okay." jungkook answered and moved over to the exit. "I think we know who the culprit is and we'll need backup for our further actions."
