Yes o, we are truly sixty years post-independence.

We know things are not as good as we may want them to be, and if you are one of those who deeply consider the present state of our dear nation, it'll look truly foolish to hope.  But what can we do but hope?

In the words of Thich Nhat Hanh, "Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today."

It is for the above reason the AmbassadorsNG team chose to make the Naija Independence contest as optimistic as possible. We already have heartbreaking posts on the internet and the news, the least we can do is choose the path of positivity.

So.... are we ready for this year's Independence contest?

We will be accepting poems, non-fiction pieces, and mainstream fiction for this contest. How inclusive is that?

1. Write an entry using this Independence Day shot as inspiration.
