"Babe I know you said you weren't finding out about the twins but I just couldn't leave these in the shop." Scarlett grinned as she pulled a bag up onto the couch from off the floor.
Aston was called into work today so I called up all of the girls to see if anyone was free. Nicole was still at work unfortunately but Aimee and Scarlett were available so we decided to meet up at Scarlett's until Aston picked me up on his way home from work. Being six and a half months pregnant, Aston said I wasn't allowed to drive anywhere, and if I did need to go anywhere he'd take me and pick me up.
"Scar, you shouldn't have." I tutted as she pulled out two gorgeous lilac dresses.
"They're so cute, I couldn't resist." She smiled as Aimee bounced Alex up and down on her knee gently.
"What am I gonna do with these if they turn out to be boys?" I sighed, folding them on my lap as she passed me two Arsenal kits.
"Problem solved."
"Ast's never going to let them out of these, boys or girls." I laughed, putting all the outfits back into the bags.
"How come you didn't want to find out?" Aimee asked, dangling a toy in front of Alex's face.
"Ast wants to be surprised." I shrugged as I took a sip of my ice cold water, mainly to suit my ice craving.
"Don't you want to know?"
"Yeah but if I found out and started to buy stuff for them then Ast would obviously put two and two together, it's just easier if we both don't know."
"Alright, what do you think they are?" Scarlett asked as she took a sip of her coffee.
"Personally I think they're boys." I smiled, resting my hand on my stomach.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah, I've just got a feeling."
"What about Ast?"
"He thinks it's one of each."
"Really?"
"Yeah, but that's just because when I asked him what he wanted he didn't want to say girls in case it turned out to boys." I giggled as I looked at my phone once it'd buzzed, seeing a text from Aston.
[finished early, are you still at Scarlett's? X]
[yeah, how long are you gonna be? X]
[about twenty minutes babes x]
[can you nip to Tesco and get me some ice pleeease? X]
[fuck sake baby x]
I couldn't help but laugh to myself as I put my phone down, knowing how much I was doing Ast's head in with my ice craving. I told Scarlett and Aimee that Ast was going to be here in about half an hour before we got back to talking about Scarlett's love life. I'd had many many cuddles off Alex throughout the whole afternoon; he's just the cutest little boy! I'd asked Aimee for one last cuddle with him before Ast turned up to take me home.
But the next half hour flew by and Scarlett soon had to get up to answer the front door, coming back into the living room with Ast in tow.
"Hey babe, you ready to go?" He asked, sliding his hands into his pockets as I looked up from Alex.
"Yeah, oh I don't want to put him down." I pouted as he let out a cute little yawn.
"Aimee's gonna have to take him home some time." Ast laughed as he sat on the arm of the couch next to me.
"I know but look how cute he is!"
"I know babes," He chuckled, reaching his hand out for Alex to grab his finger in his fist. "But there's that bag of ice in the boot that's gonna melt if we don't get a move on."
"Oo sorry girls, I'm gonna have to go." I giggled, passing Alex over to Aston so that he could pass him to Aimee.
"Let's go buddy." He smiled, carefully cradling Alex whilst letting him wrap his tiny hand around his finger. The sheer sight was still enough to melt my heart.
"So ice is better than my son?" Aimee laughed as Aston stood by her still holding Alex, rocking him from side to side gently.
"At this moment in time, yeah!" I giggled as Scarlett helped me to stand up. "Ast?"
"Hmm?"
"Are we going?" I asked, picking up my coat off the back of the couch.
"Yeah, here you go little man," He smiled as he passed Alex back to Aimee. "Back to your Mummy."
After saying our goodbyes we left Scarlett's to get back to our house as soon as possible. I left Aston to get the ice out of the boot whilst I went into the house to change into my pyjamas. Once I was changed I headed back downstairs to see Aston sat on the sofa with his feet up on the coffee table, a beer in his hands watching Arsenals latest match.
"Where's my ice?" I asked, sitting down next to him.
"Where do you think it is?" He chuckled, not moving his eyes off the TV.
"Oh but I just sat down." I whined, slouching down into the couch.
"Babe can you wait just ten minutes til half time and I'll go get it?"
I huffed and crossed my arms over my bump. This was a regular thing now, I'd get annoyed at the simplest thing. Something like this wouldn't have bothered me a few months ago but this whole pregnancy thing has made me so irritable.
"Alright I'll go get it," Aston sighed, pausing the TV. "Do you want it in a glass?"
"Please?" I asked with a small smile.
"Sure." He said, tapping my leg before going into the kitchen, returning a few minutes later with a glass full of ice.
"Thanks, I'm sorry I'm being so irritating lately." I sighed, taking the glass off him as he sat back down.
"Hey you're pregnant, you're allowed to be." He chuckled, resting his hand on my leg again as I bit down on an ice cube.
"Really?"
"Yeah don't worry about it." He smiled before leaning over and kissing my cheek gently, quickly turning his attention back to the football.
