HAWK: It refers to the bird (Hawk). Hawks are known for their intelligence and eyesight.
In the year 2005, a method to measure avian IQ by their innovation in feeding habits was announced. Based on this scale, Hawks were named among most intelligent birds.
Hawks, like most birds, are tetrachromats having four types of colour receptors in the eye. These give hawks the ability to perceive not only the visible range but also ultraviolet light. Other adaptations allow for the detection of polarised light or magnetic fields.
I named the Male lead of the story after the bird keeping in mind the above mentioned. I found the name quite unusual. Besides, Hawks are very sharp-minded creatures and that's why I finalized the name.
LYRA: Brave.
The name Lyra means Lyre in Greek and Brave in Nordic.
Lyra is a small constellation. It is one of 48 listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy. This constellation has the Fifth most brightest star in the night sky - Vega.
I took both the meanings into consideration. I just felt that this name would be perfect.
