06 | What's Written in The Note

Time flies so fast, Jimin was crying so much as he tried to cut the rope in Louella's neck.

He checked her pulses, still beating but low. He tried to do the CPR but he is too nervous and out of himself.

"Please send an ambulance. Ple..please hurry!" Jimin stuttered as he spoke to the phone.

"Okay sir, please calm down. May I know what happened?" the person in the other line asked.

"I don't have enough time for questioning. Hurry, sent an ambulance." Jimin answered.

"Okay sir, but we really need to know what happened. The ambulance is going there." the person added.

"I poisoned my girlfriend!" Jimin shouted, "I swear if something happens, I will sue this hospital!"

The person in the other line was taken aback and quickly hang up.

Ilang minuto rin ang lumipas at nakarinig na si Jimin ng ambulansya kaya agad agad siyang lumabas at doon na pumasok ang mga rescuers.

"This is code blue! The patient is unconscious, 50 bpm, and had a hard time breathing. Hurry!" yan ang sabi ng isang rescuer ng in-examine niya si Louella.

Hindi mapakali si Jimin at nag aalala siya. Parang kanina lang na nagsasama sila ay masaya ito, hindi niya lubos maisip na ngayong gabi ay madadatnan niya ito sa sitwasyong ganito.

Hindi niya rin alam kung sino ang tatawagan niya kasi sa pagkakaalam niya, Louella isn't Korean and she is here in Korea for her career.

Isinuot niya muna ang kanyang mask at bucket hat ag agad siyang sumakay sa ambulansya para samahan si Louella doon kasi wala naman siyang ibang kasama at sobrang nag-aalala siya dito.

Few minutes have passed, they arrived at the hospital. The doctor told him to wait outside as they examined Louella if she will be able to survive or not.

Hindi siya mapakali, agad niyang kinuha sa bulsa niya ang cellphone ni Louella at kasama roon ang note na nakuha niya sa ibabaw ng lamesa.

Doon niya nakita sa contacts ang pangalan ng kuya niya na si Enzo at agad niyang tinawagan ito para ipaalam ang nangyari sa kapatid niya, kahit ang kuya nito ay nagulat at nag-alala. Hindi niya lubos maisip na gagawin niya ito sa kanyang sarili.

Sabi nga nila depression cannot be seen outside, or easily determined. Because some people chose to smile and fool the world that they are happy but in the inside, they are not. They are broken people who chooses to pretend that they are fine.

Every person has its secret sorrows which the world knows not, and often times we call them cold when they are only sad.

Naupo si Jimin sa labas ng room doon sa may bench at inilabas yung note na nakita niya. Binasa niya ito.

"I don't know how to start this letter. But i've always been so grateful of the things i've achieved in life. I am happy and so grateful about that. Sometimes, life seems to be so hard that I don't even know what to do anymore. I just sat there, thinking about why life is going to be this hard? I don't want any more of this try, try again stuff and such. I just want out. I’ve had it. I am so tired. I am just twenty-thrwe but I am already exhausted.

As i'm writing this, its so hard to weite when you want to kill yourself. That's above and beyond everything else. I hate to cry while writing this. I didn't even expect in my whole life to reach this point where i'm writing a letter of farewell to all my loved ones.

To my Kuya Enzo, I love you kuya. Thank you for believing in me since day one. Even when our parents abandoned me for being such a hard-headed and bossy daughter. Thank you for all the things you did to me, kuya! I can't even explain how much grateful of am I to have you as my eldest brother.

Jimin, thank you for being my friend. I know that you are so popular that I didn't even expect to spend so much time with you. You are a great company and an excellent friend. I'm so grateful that you were there to cheer me up most of the time. Thank you Jiminssi. Please take good care of yourself.

To my mom and dad, I love you still. Even though it's so hard to live knowing the fact that the both of you aren't proud of me anymore. I'm sorry if I decided to become an author, a writer instead of being a lawyer or teacher that you've always wanted. I just want you to know that i'm very very happy that I became a successful author.

Dad, i'm sorry for disappointing you. I'm sorry if I didn't obey you. I'm sorry if i've said that I regret being your daughter. That wasn't my intention, I just said that because I was mad but trust me, I didn't mean that. I love you dad, and I always will. Thank you for raising me into this world. I will forever owe you so much for letting me witness this beautiful world i'm living.

Mom, I love you so much. Thank you for raising me and taking good care of me since I was born. I am so much grateful that you became my mother, i've always loved you for being so supportive for my dreams even though dad will always go against you.

Don't worry mom and dad, I already forgave you. Matagal na. Thank you and I love you so much! Always remember that, Louella Denys Canama Martinez, your only daughter will always be so grateful for the both of you."

Jimin finished reading the letter. Tears were forming in his eyes. It is really a farewell letter because she was really planning to end her life, to kill herself.

"Mr. Jimin Park.." a young, taller than him, and handsome man stood infront of him.

"I'm Louella's brother. H..how is she?" he asked.

Bago niya pa man iyon sagutin lumabas na ang isang Doctor sa room.

"Are you the patient's guardian?" tanong ng Doctor kay Enzo.

"Y..yes. How is my sister?!" he asked.

Huminga ng malalim ang Doctor bago nagsalita.

"Your sister is fine and we should call her lucky. The main principal of death by hanging is a lack of oxygen getting to your brain. You may break your neck, you may get knocked out from the sheer force, but in her case the knot or rope failed before she was completely dead, and it releases her neck from strangulation. It's going to take 4 to 6 minutes to die by hanging and she was found 8 minutes after and she was still alive that time but she loses her consciousness. If she was found 10 minutes later than that, she was probably dead by now." the Doctor said and her brother started to cry out of happiness as he got to know that his sister survived.
