Kanishka's pov

I pull the sleeves of my top down, hoping they'll be good enough and appropriate for wherever it is that Aarav is taking me, because he refuses to say a word.

Aarav apparently decided that we haven't had a proper date till today that wasn't sabotaged at the end, and it's just atrocious because we are supposed to be having a "love marriage".

"At least he's treating you well. Your father only took me on 2 dates, and right after the second one, we got married" Mom tells it loud enough, so that dad can hear her complaining while she finishes off my winged liner. I was too scared to touch a liner, even though I'm used to wearing it everyday because I really didn't want to mess it up today

Imagine showing up to your first date looking like a kathakali artist
Yeah that would definitely go well;

"Don't try too hard for his sake though, you can't be a pushover, okay?" Great mom! Fuel my paranoia even more, as if I'm anywhere lacking in it.

"Stop fussing over her so much, my daughter is perfectly capable of looking after herself" Dad tells me as he comes to stand at the doorframe with his arms crossed

"Yeah sure" My mom says sarcastically, her eyes going to my once bruised eye

I roll my eyes at her, even though I know she's saying the truth. The sound of my ringtone resonates through the room and I pick up my purse and head downstairs, opening the door to find Aarav outside, leaning against his car

I try hard not to swoon over his well..swoon worthy attire, it wasn't anything much, just a white t-shirt with a black leather jacket, typical plain vampire, but he just made it look special

I guess everything is wonderful when you're in love

I open the gate and go next to him, he kisses my forehead immediately, his calloused yet warm palms brushing my cheeks

I get into his car and instantly notice his hiking shoes, wondering if that's what we are gonna be doing

"Are we going trekking?!" I shriek which takes him by surprise as he slightly flinches at the pitch before sighing and nodding

"I LOVE trekking, My most favorite holiday memory is of me and dad going trekking" I laugh at the sweet childhood memories that I had made, even though Vihaan and Krutika had caused some of it to be bitter, I still had loads of happy memories and love from my parents that sometimes, even for just minutes, made me forget about the pain

"Well then little bird, I hope you'll enjoy this date" He grins at me, looking over to my side while driving, but I push my palm against his face, telling him to look at the road even though I know I'm irresistible to look at

Just kidding, I don't nearly have that much self confidence

He pulls us over at the starting of the Chityal Hill Trek, and I frown while looking down at my feet

"If you had told me, I wouldn't have worn heels" I pout at them, knowing that I'll probably have to do this barefoot or buy new ones nearby

"I don't know why you wear those damned things anyways" I hear him murmur but he shakes his head, proceeding to go to the backseat of the car and grab something
