Mai had done it.

She'd prevented the attempted assassination of Ho Chi Minh.

News from the Paris Peace Conference reported on Ho Chi Minh delivering his speech.

Her father believed in Ho, and so did she.

When Mai switched off her radio, her Paris apartment went quiet. She sat down to finish eating the lobster, which her husband jokingly called the Last Supper.

Offering her last prayer, she hoped her father helped her mother to understand the reason Mai had to kill her husband before his mission to assassinate Ho Chi Minh.

Poisoned dinner was her father's plan, after all.
