Two men, from a world apart, locked eyes for a brief moment. One was the old American mountaineer in an expensive climbing suit who revealed a terrified expression while his Himalayan assistant appeared calm and collected.
The young Sherpa hammered their last nail to secure himself in position. He sighed quietly with their predicament. It wasn't his plan to die just because his rich client screwed things up. He needed to get back home to his sick child.
The American made a high-pitched squeak when the Sherpa cut the rope, caused the old man to plummet to his death.
