The house shook violently from a loud boom outside her kitchen door. Meg grabbed her baby girl out of the crib and run to her front door.
She shouted for her husband. There was no time to go up to their bedroom. Since his heart transplant two months ago, Dean did nothing but slept through the days.
Something was waiting for her right outside the house, a big furry monster with red eyes.
She screamed when she saw the identical scar at the center of its chest. It was a scar from heart surgery. The beast was her husband.
