Reader POV
I drove Satori to the airport as I needed to get some ingredients from a store nearby for my chocolates and other baked goods.
"No..." My eyes widened when I saw the neighbor sitting on his porch sipping what seemed to be either coffee or tea.
It was none other than Miya Osamu.
I turned around and glared at Satori. "You did this on purpose! I specifically told you to make sure I'm living nowhere near him!"
He shrugged. "How was I supposed to know he lived there?"
"OI! SAMU!" My attention was drawn to Miya Atsumu and my stepbrother Sakusa Kiyoomi who was trailing behind his boyfriend slowly. "You didn't tell me my future sister-in-law lived next to you!"
I cringed when I heard him speak. "What do you mean future sister-in-law? Your brother and I-"
"It's not all about you," Kiyoomi muttered. "The dumbass known as Atsumu proposed to me."
My jaw dropped. "What!? Since when-"
"Since last week," Osamu said. "That's why your brother wanted us to meet again as someone-" he glared at both his brother and my biological brother. "-Wanted us to attend their wedding in a month together."
"Right." I turned my attention to Satori. "Well, he has to go to Paris. I'll see you later, Atsu and Kiyo."
"Bye, (n/n)!"
I dropped Satori off and got my stuff for opening day tomorrow, heading to the shop.
Around lunchtime, I saw Osamu at the door peering in.
I opened the door. "We don't open yet,"
"I know. I have a proposal that will benefit both of our companies,"
I sighed and held the door open a bit. "Make it quick."
"Nice place," he looked around, admiring the hand-written menu boards with specials and all that. "Okay. Here's what I was thinking. We can have both of our shops offer discounts to the other. For example, they get special tickets to give to you after buying something from my place. And you can do the same for your place."
I thought about it. "Hmm...but does onigiri really go good with chocolate? No."
"You didn't let me finish. I meant any sweet treat."
"It doesn't sound like a bad idea..."
He extended a hand. "Do we have a deal?"
"Yes. But only for tomorrow." I glared at him while shaking his hand curtly. "And only tomorrow."
"Good. I'll drop off the tickets later since we should use special tickets."
I nodded. "Oh, here." I took some of the chocolates out of the freezer that were for my own consumption. "On the house."
He cautiously took a bite and his eyes widened. "Wow. That's really good."
"Yep."
A ding was heard from the kitchen.
"Now if you excuse me-"
He grabbed my wrist. "So you have nothing to say about being neighbors?"
"There's nothing to say," I said. "Kindly let go of my hand."
"...sorry."
The next morning, I opened up my shop around 7am.
My first customer was my old best friend, Suna Rintarou.
"Rin?!" My eyes widened as he looked at the chocolates and other sweets.
"Hey, (n/n). Samu told me about this shop and said I should try it. Let's see if it tastes any good as he described it."
I gave him a sample chocolate and he bit into it.
"Whoa...I'll take a dozen of those shits. Man, if I knew how good you were-"
"Is that Choi (y/n)?"
We looked at the door to see Kita Shinsuke and some of my friends from Shiratorizawa and other people we didn't know.
"One of the world's master chocolatiers and bakers," a girl said.
And soon, on the official social media, we were booming already.
Around lunch hour, things got faster and I looked over to see some of my customers coming from Onigiri Miya, holding the gray tickets with an onigri on the back.
"Did you see that guy?" A girl with green hair and pale amber eyes swooned to her friend. "He is so hot. I want to know what's going on underneath his shirt."
Another girl with green hair and brown eyes sighed. "Riko, don't simp over him. You're dating Aia, remember?"
"Doesn't mean I can deny a hottie when I see him." This Riko person stared at me as she approached the counter. "See, Rika? These two shops are going to be booming since they're run by famous people-and they're hot as hell!"
Rika rolled her eyes. "I'm so sorry, Ms. Choi. My sister is-"
"It's no worry," I waved it off as I took their tickets and placed it in the jar with the others.
I got along with the two girls immediately, laughing at their jokes.
We exchanged contact information and I smiled, my elite aura slipping momentarily.
Then it came back when I remembered that my friendliness was what killed me.
"You aren't here to make friends. They're just people who are customers."
At the end of the day, Osamu came to my shop and we counted the tickets.
A split tie.
"Not bad..." he commented as we put them away for another use in the future. "Oh, I forgot to tell you. They want to have dinner on Friday, so we'll be forced to go."
"Great. More time spent with someone I hate." I stood up and walked into the kitchen, turning off the lights as I had already cleaned up.
Osamu bit his lip as I pushed him out of my shop and closed the door, locking it. "Why do you hate me so much?"
I paused and looked at him with hatred. "Could you really love someone who tarnished your hard work?"
At his silence, I pushed him away and put on my coat properly as it was November.
"I'll see you later."
"No point, we live next to each other. Might as well walk you home."
"...fine."
I said my goodbye to him once I reached my door and closed it behind me, closing the curtains.
Meanwhile Osamu sighed in despair as he walked down the steps of my porch and crossed over to his house.
He knew it was going to be a long time before he could get me to forgive him.
