Reader POV

I closed down my shop and took account the cash as I counted it all up in the back room.

A gentle pitter patter of rain hit the windows as I opened my umbrella outside and locked the front door, smiling softly.

I saw the lights to Onigiri Miya turn off as I walked past his shop.

"Hey, (y/n)?"

"Yes?" I stopped walking and allowed Osamu to walk beside me, holding his own umbrella.

Flashback

"Hurry up!" I shouted to him.

"Yeah, yeah." He held my hand as we ran through the rain, giggling like dumb teenagers.

Well, no wonder.

I let go of his hand and closed the umbrella when we got to my house as it was spring break before school started again.

When we entered my empty house, I threw our clothes into the washing machine and we got into the shower, laughing as we washed each other's hair.

"You might want to stop running your fingers through my hair," he warned as he pressed his lips to my neck. "Or else I might not hold back."

I purposely tugged at his damp gray hair, smirking. "I don't want you to hold back at all."

"Fine, but this is entirely your fault."

And just like that, bodies pressed against the cool tiles, we lost our last essence of purity.

End of Flashback

He looked at me a bit. "This brings back memories."

"Indeed."

We walked in silence to the homes when he said something to me.

"Maybe we're better off as strangers," he said. "Clearly we can't even be friends."

I gripped my umbrella. "I suppose not. Okay, if that's what you want, Mr. Miya." I started walking away from him.

"That's it?" He said with a bit of a bite. "You'll just leave? Just like that?"

I frowned and looked at him. "You suggested it. And I really can't have your drama in my life."

He bit his lip and looked away. "Okay. Fine. I'm giving up on you. I thought I could keep chasing you, but it's no use. You've moved on."

"You haven't?" My voice rose. "Let me get this clear to you, Mr. Miya. It was you who said I was nothing but a pawn for your entertainment. It was you who decided to cut the string that tied us together. Sometimes I wish I never met you!"

It was silent for a bit.

I tched. "I'm not wasting my time anymore. The world Shokugeki is in less than a month. I don't want to speak to you until then. And when I'm done with that, I'm going straight back to Paris and never coming back. Goodbye, Mr. Miya."
