Lily's POV

2 YEARS 3 MONTHS - 1980
January

The new year rolled around fast and it was at this point that I wished time would slow down. Everything was moving at a crazy speed that made me dizzy when I thought about it. James and I were still living in Godric's Hollow and Delaney remained at the Black Manor with Sirius and Remus. It was the cutest and the funniest thing watching them raise a child together. Of course I spent most of my time at the house of Black anyway and only returned to Godric's Hollow in the evening; Delaney spent as many evenings with James and I as she does with Sirius and Remus. Who would of thought the Maurader boys would be raising a child and doing it well, if I may add. "Hey, little Padfoot. What are you doing?" I could hear James voice from out living room as he sat down next to my daughter. There was silence after his question and I could only imagine the look Delaney was giving him. She was filled with so much sass and disliked very stupid questions. Her reply came not long after as she stated that she was drawing. The tone in her voice made me believe that she did infact think it was a stupid question. I guess she took after me a lot in that way, I hated it when the boys asked the most stupidest questions.

"Lily?" I hear James call out and I answered back as he followed my voice towards our back garden when I was currently setting up for our friend New Years Day party. We couldn't all be together the night before so we planned it for the next day. James swopped past, planting a kiss on my cheek before sitting at the table as I continued to decorate it. "Sirius and Remus will be here any second, apparently they are bringing guests. Oh! And Peter is back, finally. That boy has been gone long ennough." The fourth member of the Mauraders, Peter Pettigrew, went travelling after we graduated from school and was set to return weeks ago but apparently he was enjoying his time away too much. I chucked at the way James spoke, the front door slamming shut a few moments after signalling the arrival of our friends. I could hear multiple voices and I looked up towards James who just shrugged his shoulder and stood to go and greet out guests. "Darling, I think it's best if you come here! You'll never believe who is here!" James called out once more and I sighed, dropping what I was doing and making my way into the house. A gasp fell from my lips and my whole face lit up with happiness as I noiced a few people from the Order here. Alice Longbottom rushed over to hug me, Frank following closely behind. Behind them stood Wormtail, who looked like he had grown during his time away. After a quick hug, he went off to find Delaney, excited to introduce himself as the 4th Maurader.

As much as I loved seeing those three, it was a certain girl standing in the back that caught my eye. A squel emitted from both of us as we collided in a tight hug. I couldn't believe that she was here, we hadn't seen each other since school had ended. "Marlene!" I exclaimed, continuing to hold her tight as we laughted. She looked the same, absolutely stunning and as happy as ever. We had kept in touch, sending letters to each other pretty much every week with updated and events that had happened in that week. "Lily! How are you? Now, as much as i've missed your face.. there's a little Black running about that I am dying to meet!" She spoke and I laughed once more, grabbing her hand and leading her through the house calling out for my child as we walked. As always, Delaney was the person everyone wanted to see and meet and truthfully, I wouldn't want it any other way.
