Y/n's P.O.V

I woke up to my mum calling my name. "Y/n, please come downstairs. Your father and I have something to tell you." I slowly got up out of bed and moved towards the door. My room was on the third floor all the way to the right.

Our house was called Rosewood Manor. It is very large compared to what halfbloods and muggles live in. I had everything I needed plus more within my reach.

As I made my way downstairs, I heard a murmur of voices coming from the dining room. The doorway came into my view and I saw my parents sitting at the end of the table.

"Good morning, sweetie," my dad said as I walked into the dining room. "Good morning, father. How did you sleep?"

"Very well, and you?" I sat down at the table and grabbed a bowl of fruit from the middle. "I slept decent. Now what was it that you and mother had to tell me. She made it seem rather important."

He raised his eyebrows as he said, "Ah, yes. This letter came in the mail for you today, darling. It's your hogwarts letter."

My eyes widened when he handed me the letter. I had been waiting for this day since I was a little girl and watched my parents use magic. I tore open the envelope and read the letter.

To: Mrs. Y/n Rosewood

                  Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore

(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supremgwump, International Confed. Of Wizards)

Dear Ms. Rosewood,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

Yours sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall,

Deputy Headmistress

I scanned over the letter a few times to make sure it was real. I flipped the page and read over our list of school supplies. "Mother, I need a lot of supplies from Diagon Alley, when can we go?" I set the letter down and continued to eat my fruit.

"Actually, we got invited to the Malfoy's house for a party, we were planning on speaking to them about you and their son, Draco, going together," my mum said as she glanced at my father. I started to get really excited.

"When is the party? I want to have my dress picked out before." I started racking my brain and mentally looking through my closet. I had the perfect outfit picked out.

"The party is tonight and we will be leaving the house at 5 p.m. sharp. Do you want me to have Pinky pick out your outfit?"

"No, mother, I can pick out my outfit on my own, that's what I'll go do right now." I got up from the table and made my way back to my room. I opened my closet doors and began rifling through all of the clothes to find the perfect dress.

After what felt like hours of searching, I finally found the dress I was looking for. It was a simple royal blue dress with spaghetti straps that went down to a little above my knees. I matched it with a pair of silver flats and a small silver purse.

I went to the loo and quickly curled my hair and put on mascara and a light coat of lipgloss, my parents didn't like me using makeup too much. At that point, I went downstairs to the kitchen and ate a late lunch with Pinky.

Unlike certain wizarding families, we treat our house elf with utmost respect and never abuse her, she's apart of our family. After I finished my lunch, I went back to my room and picked up where I left off in a book I was reading.

I must have gotten so consumed in it that I didn't realize it was already 5 o' clock. I left my room and went to meet my parents down at the entrance hall.

"Hello, y/n, are you ready to leave?" I looked up at my mum who looked absolutely beautiful in her dark green dress with black heels and a dark green purse. "Mum, you look gorgeous. Yes, I am ready to leave."

"Great, bid goodbye to Pinky, dear," my dad said to me as he made his way to the grand doors. "Goodbye, Pinky, see you in a few hours." I quickly walked over to give Pinky a light hug and then rushed to get into the carriage with my parents

I was so excited for what the night was going to bring me, I couldn't wait to meet this Draco boy my parents had informed me about. I hope him and I will get along well.
