Mingan and Embry laid in the guest room of Emily's house having won the picking straws out of everyone. Or well Embry did and brought Mingan along with him.

Embry laid on his back pulling Mingan in closer even though she was practically on top of him since the small bed could barely fit them both. Resting her head on his chest Mingan lightly traced her fingers up and down his stomach as they listened to the loud winds of the storm.

Like any other human Mingan was freezing to death even with the heater on inside the house. She was swearing Christmas pajama pants and a hoodie of Embry's, and socks but she was still cold.

Pressing further into Embry's warm body she let out a small shaky sigh as she turned her head to look up towards him. "I am so glad you're warm" Mingan suddenly said breaking the silence they had together.

Embry smiled turning his face to kiss her forehead as he brushed his hand up her back then right back down. "I'm glad I can be as of help to you" He lightly joked as he tried to warm her up completely.

The witch just smiled not saying anything else as warmth filled inside her from both his tempter and his words. Once again silence surrounded them but not an awkward silence. Comfortable silence.

---------------------------------------------

Elike was wide awake quietly listening to Embry's and Mingan's conversation as she laid on her side staring out the glass back door of Emily's house. Leah, who laid on the couch, was dead asleep from the tiring day of dealing with her fumbled thoughts.

Seth and Quil were on the floor beside the couch cuddling each other as they slept since they were tired from being in their wolf form for so long. The only ones that were awake beside Elike were Paul and Jared.

Jared laid behind Elike maybe a foot or two away from her as he stared at her back. He knew she knew he was watching but he could care less about that. They were about to go into a battle and he couldn't help but be worried about her safety.

The two hadn't had a moment alone since they found out they were imprints. It was always around others or never with each other at all. It pained Jared because they didn't talk since Elike was always with Leah.

It was like Jared was nothing to Elike. It was to the point that Jared wanted to pull her into his arms and actually have her reject him. He couldn't handle this anymore. He couldn't handle like this was nothing. He would rather have her reject him and move on even though he knew that wasn't possible.

You couldn't move on from your imprint it was just law. They were made for you while you were made for them. Closing his eyes Jared moved to turn on his other side so he wouldn't be facing Elike.

He couldn't be thinking and worrying about this right now. He needed to focus on the battle that was yet to come. Closing his eyes Jared hugged a pillow close to his chest slowly falling asleep after clearing his mind from all thoughts.

Hearing his movement Elike turned her head to give Jared a longing look. She had been wanting to talk to him, kiss him, be held by him but her thoughts about her mother and brother always made her stop.

No matter how many times Leah told her that Jared wouldn't leave her she always thought she wasn't good enough. Especially for Jared. Even though she didn't talk to him didn't mean she didn't think about him.

Every thought she had was about him. Whenever she wasn't talking and blanking out Leah she was watching Jared as he messed around with the others. She so badly wanted to be with him and it was obvious to everyone except Jared.

Sighing Elike slowly turned back around to stare out the window to watch the leaves and tree move from the large winds hitting them. She had silently promised herself that she would do anything to protect Jared tomorrow. Even if it hurt her. Even if it killed her. She was going to protect him.

Paul was sitting on the dining table staring into space. He couldn't go to sleep for the fact that the battle was against his imprint. The person that was supposed to be his everything but this was his family.

He was gonna fight whether he liked it or not because He couldn't have his family be taken away from him. Not again. At first, he was angry and mad at the fact that he had a vampire imprint and the fact that she was their enemy in the battle.

But now as he sat on the table in the darkness he couldn't be mad. He didn't know why but all he could think about was his imprint and hoping that no harm would be done to her during the battle tomorrow. That maybe he could see her at least once before she would run again.

Lifting up his hands he covered his face groaning to let out his frustrations before getting up to lay down. He needed rest and as much as he wanted to stay up he was exhausted from thinking so much. He was supposed to be the hothead, not the over-thinker.

-------------------------------------------------

Ivy was currently standing with Bree having run away from the rest of the newborns since they had just gotten to the forest of Forks. Ivy was currently pushing the younger vampire into a hallowed tree the Asian found.

"Are you sure you don't need me in the battle?" Bree asked in a hushed tone as she watched the Asian squat down to look through the small whole Bree could barely fit in to get in the tree.

"Yes," Ivy muttered as she stared at the vampire "Just please stay put until I come to get you tomorrow" With the rough winds and rain if the two were humans they would be freezing but they weren't.

"Okay" Bree nodded before leaning in and hugging Ivy "Please be safe" Ivy stood still for a moment not used to the physical contact before lightly giving Bree a squeeze in return.

"I will" Was all Ivy said before pulling away pushing leaves to block the whole of the tree. Without in other words Ivy disappeared from the area to go back where the other newborns were. She hoped that nothing bad would happen to Bree.

The young vampire she was the only one to actually see Ivy for who she really was. Not the act she usually put on.
