"Yeah?" A boy with hair and eyes the same color as Kou's said, walking down the stairs. He was the cutest boy you've ever seen. You blushed as Kou introduced you.
"This is my friend, y/n. We've been friends since middle school," she said.
"Nice. I'm Rin," he said.
"Let's go hang out in the backyard!" Kou suggested.
"O-Okay!" You said.
"Sure," Rin said.
You followed them outside. They sat in the grass, and you sat in-between them.
"So!" Kou said.
"What?" Rin said back.
"What should we talk about?"
Rin shrugged.
You tried to start conversation with Rin.
"So... I hear you swim," you said.
"I used to," he said.
"Why'd you stop?"
"I just did."
"Oh."
You wondered why he'd stopped.
"Rin, how was school?" Kou asked Rin.
"Good, I guess," Rin said, not making eye contact.
"Did you make any new friends?"
"No."
"Oh, okay. I'm sure you will!"
"I don't want any new friends."
"Oh, do you miss Haruka?"
"Leave me alone," Rin said, got up and went inside.
What was that about?
"Who's Haruka?" You asked.
"Rin's friend," Kou said.
"What happened to him? Did he die?"
"No, he didn't die... I don't really know what happened. They stopped talking, and no one knows what happened between them."
You wondered why they stopped talking, and you wondered who exactly Haruka was.
