Let us pray before we get started...

These threads of rhyme have been knitted together
With a prayer and hope that God's Word would shine
That I would live true to the words I'm about to say
And live unashamed to the Spirit's blaze that shines like the noonday
That if my little credit should never grow
So that His truth and power might be made known
Then may He give me strength to see it
His joy to be pleased by it
Because there are times when we should listen more than sing
And waiting for Him more than doing
It is a stumbling block to believe we must achieve God's pleasure
By displaying in our praying, all our spiritual credits and our earthly treasures
(The only credit that we possess to print openly on our testimony's press
Is that God became our sacrifice for us; sin can no longer corrode the soul to rust)

It was as if, somehow, our loving Maker was hoodwinked; so that we must be proving
Yet it is not by our knowledge or works but by God's blessing and choosing
I pray we remember also that we are not in perfection but rather being perfected
It must be our intention to catch this community and beyond's attention
To the King in whom alone belongs authority and salvation
If we become a distraction, then we become the world's destruction
And our part in the tale of God's plan and will, will not truly function
As it should
To go down such a road, divides us as a body and we become alone
We then stumble and are deceived by the guidance we mislead
There's only so much time before they find
Their unrepentant sins have poisoned their every vein; they suffer and die alone
Until they know of Him who can wash away their every stain
