Chapter 3

I awaken in a pitch-black room, and as soon as the fear kicks in, I panic. I’ve always feared the dark, and I still sleep with a lamp. This feeling, the feeling I’m being watched in the dark, not knowing if whoever is out there, and if they are out there, and if they will attack. It’s the worst I’ve felt in these past few days. I feel my heartbeat every second that passes. I want to move. I don’t know what moving will do, but I would feel a little better if I wasn’t trapped.

Where am I? I’m not chained to anything, and I feel no pressure on my arms or legs, so I’m not constrained. So, what is preventing me from moving? I want to move, more than anything right now, but even with all my willpower, I won't budge.

So, I’m all alone in a pitch-black unidentified place, being constrained by nothing, but still not being able to move. What more can I do than sit here and cry quietly? It’s not like anyone’s watching, and I don’t need to act all tough, because I’m sure if anyone is watching they would already know I’m no threat by the expression on my face. So, I give up and weep.
