Fourth period, AKA, Modern Literature, finished. In other words, it's lunchtime.
"Even after what we just went through..."
"THIS HAS GOT ME FREAKING PUMPED!" Eijirou roared, clenching both fists with excitement. "If we show our stuff here, then that's one step closer to going pro!" A crowd formed around Eijirou's desk, even when the student was standing up.
(Name), however, ignored all the excited chats about the sports festival and moved on with a packed lunch. She exited the classroom with silence and no attention from anyone. Her desk, was a different story. Truth be told, it was teleported because they were borrowing the desk for the day until the school could get a new one.
"Wow, everyone's so excited," Izuku noted.
"And you aren't?" Tenya asked, stiffening up. "This is our chance to add our names to the rank of heroes. OF COURSE WE'RE IN HIGH SPIRITS!" He tensed up to the pose of a robot.
"You have a funny way of showing it, Iida," Tsuyu commented. "Weird."
"Well, yeah, I get that," Izuku began, "but..."
"Deku," a feminine voice heaved, "Iida." Ochako's face turned from her sweet tea self to a more bitter coffee version of herself. Her brows furrowed, making her expression a more serious and determined one. "Let's do our best at the sports festival," she said.
"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE, URARAKA?!" Tenya and Izuku screamed together.
"You're not looking very Uraraka, Uraraka," Mina Ashido observed.
"Maybe it's that ti-" Before he could finish, Minoru was slapped in the face by Tsuyu's tongue.
"Everyone," Ochako stated, "I am going to crush this!" She pumped a fist into the air with aura rising out of her. Her face wasn't really fitting for her real personality.
"Yeah!" Eijirou supported. "But seriously, what happened to you, Uraraka? Talk about inconsistent characterization!" he commented.
"Speaking of the sports festival," Momo started, "where's (L/N)?"
"She's right over-" Everyone turned their heads to see an empty desk. "Huh?" No traces left to be seen. She was just gone.
"Hey, wasn't she just there?" Kouji asked.
"Maybe it's her quirk?" Kyouka guessed.
"She doesn't have a quirk," Denki reminded. "Maybe... she's a ghost?" Everyone shivered at the thought. No, that couldn't have happened. Ghosts don't exist, right?(JK. (Name)-san is in the Science Room, eating her lunch and doing research alone with her Pokemon and Rotom.)
Come to think of it... Izuku interrupted his thoughts, I never got to ask Uraraka...
...
"Money?!" Tenya screeched as the three of them walked down the stairs. "You want to be a hero for the money?" They were currently talking about what they wanted to become heroes for. Ochako's answer was for the money.
"Ultimately, yeah..." the girl admitted shyly. "Sorry, I know it sounds so base and really embarrassing, considering Iida's noble motivation and all," she apologized, putting both hands on her cheeks.
"But why?!" Tenya asked, doing hand motions from a boxy tone to a surprised one. "There's really nothing wrong with seeking a more comfortable lifestyle!"
"Yeah, it's just a bit unexpected," Izuku agreed, trying not to get hit.
"Well, you see, my family runs a construction company," Ochako explained, "but business is bad. We're way poorer than poor. Don't mention that to anyone, 'kay?" She looked at her friends with pleading eyes, but her determined face said otherwise.
