A day with daisies

Ripe sunshine over my shoulders,
I tread through the soft grass -
My hat obstructed the far view in front of my eyes ;
Dizzy, sad old soul out on a silent voyage.

In a sudden flight, I spotted them
White, paperthin tiny pieces of stable animation,
"daises", my brain whispered.
A wave of electric hormones was drained
in my veins.

They waved at me,
I waved back.
A cluster of the juvenile daises smiled in glee,
"You are free! You are free!" they screamed
Sending melodies to my rusty auditory canal.

In awe I stood, staring at them,
While they continued their merry movements with the wind,
Underneath an old tree, an artist sat
engraving their beauty on his empty canvas.

At twilight, I bid them my final good-byes,
So did they -
Haunted by their charm, I stepped homewards
As the sky turned scarlet, with sun at the horizon.

At night, when I turn the TV off,
Sitting on the sofa, in gloominess
I reminisce childhood :
every paper boat I made,
every song I cheered to,
every word I etched on the journal,
every rush of fear and sadness.

But in a spark of subconsciousness
The daises alight their glorious dance in front of my eyes,
Keeping my mind steady, I envision them -
As I feel their smiles engulf in eternity,
My wrecked little body would join their troop soon :
When in that brown case, they'd lie me breathless,
I'd be awaiting to hold their hands to cheer in their dance show.
