When they pulled into the drive of what appeared to be a two-story mansion, my mouth gaped wide open. This couldn't be right. We were supposed to be getting lunch. Why were we here?

Marc laughed at my expression. "What's with that look? I told you we would feed you. I just didn't say where."

Obviously, I wasn't asking enough questions. Because when they said they wanted to eat something, I assumed that meant we would either get takeout or sit down at a restaurant. "Where are we?"

Raven drummed his fingers against his thigh while he surveyed our surroundings through the car window. "Our home."

Our home. As in singular.

I was eating lunch at a gang family's home. Nope. I didn't think I was prepared for this. No, scratch that. I knew I wasn't prepared for this.

My distress escalated as we passed several armed men stationed along the wide driveway. They didn't shoot us, so I guessed they were supposed to be there. Though, I didn't want to think about the reason why someone would need around a dozen gunmen in their front yard. Nope. I zipped, tucked, and locked away those thoughts.

This place was completely different than where I'd dropped off the wallet to North. That place had been a rundown house in a rundown neighborhood. Maybe that wasn't his actual home? But his address was on it, and he'd been there when I dropped it off...

I frowned to myself, perplexed. I wanted it explained, but I didn't want to talk to North.

There were several vehicles parked along the drive, most of them black SUV copies of each other. Our car pulled into a four-car garage. I didn't think I had even seen one in person before. It was already filled with three other cars, and even though I had very little knowledge of cars, I could tell these ones were expensive.

Did all of them really live here?

As Brandon turned off the car, another wave of dread filled me.

"Maybe I should just go home... It's getting late, and I have an early morning—"

Before I had even finished speaking, Raven was pulling me out of the van. His grip was unrelenting, and I knew there was nothing I could do to get out of it. Even if I managed to get out of his hold, I doubted I'd be able to get past the other three Tomas and the dozen or so guards out front. Besides, I had no idea where we were or how I could get home.

I really didn't think this through enough.

Well, I guessed I was having lunch with gang members. At their house. Where no one knew where I was.
