It was finally and Saturday and all this week has been me catching up with my mom and brother. Along with my co workers wanting me to do extra work thinking I don't do anything, just because I don't brag.
"Hey mom," I say softly once she walks in with some herbal tea. "Thanks,"
"You're still working. You have been working since 5 this afternoon and now it is 9:00, you need to take a break," My mom tells me, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"I would love too, but if I want to stay here longer that means doing more work," I laugh. "God, working sucks sometimes,"
"You're so young to be working so hard. I'm so proud of you, I know you had to go once you got this job. I don't blame you at all," My mother tells me, giving me a side hug.
"Thanks mom, i'm sorry again. I'm going to be better, and be here for the family once again," I remind her.
"Okay, get to bed soon, goodnight. Also you're brother is staying the night at a friends house,"
"Sounds good, love you," I get back to slaving away on the computer. I just haven't had too much motivation. So every step forward with my writing is like two steps back. Everything that I wrote doesn't turn out the way I like so i'm constantly re wording it.
Before I know it, it's 5:00 in the morning and i'm almost done. I just have to finish the last sentence and send it in by 7:00 am. But I decided I need a snack break, something to keep me going.
I go downstairs but of course, to my avail, my mother has all the healthy foods and nothing of what i'm craving. I go back upstairs and find my wallet. I put on grey sweatpants and black tank top. I grab my computer bag and head out the door. Hoping to fall upon a nice little shop.
After walking for a bit and just enjoying the peacefulness outside I see a shop in the distance and decided on that. RING RING!
"Hello," I speak into the phone.
"Y/n!!! Did you do that extra article?" My co worker asks through the phone. I walk into the store, with my phone to my ear, heading down a aisle with chips.
"I'm almost done, I just have to turn that in. Along with the one i'm working on right now," I sigh looking for my favorite flavor.
"Well it's taking you a awfully long time," She snorts. I find what i'm looking for and go to where there are some ice coffees.
"My bad, i've been busy with other work that I have to do for myself," I look around for a mocha flavor one to help with my need for energy.
"Don't be like that y/n, you get to see Japan and your family, you should be great full," She speaks back sassily. Of course she would say that, but she gets to see her family all the time because her uncle owns the company. That's the only reason she has the job.
I start to walk towards the counter, now very annoyed with this conversation.
"I haven't seen my family in two years. You get to see yours every week, I had to leave my fathers funeral early for this job. You are telling me I should be great full?" I put the items down and start to speak up more. "I'm doing some of your work, mine, and another persons. I need a break, I do more for this company then you will ever know and after this assignment i'm done helping you out. Goodbye now," I hang up and stick out my credit card.
"Sounds like one conversation," He chuckles.
"You're telling me," I laugh. "Did you understand what i'm saying, I mean I was speaking in english,"
"I'm actually fluent in english," He takes out a cigarette pack and I look up only to be faced with blonde, spikey hair.
"Should you be smoking in the store?" I chuckle, looking at the ground.
"I mean it's mine, so it's fine," I look up to be faced with his eyes.
"Ukai?" He looks at me confused and then happily. "This is your shop, oh my gosh, hahah. I didn't even realize, man am I happy to see you,"
"You are?"
"Yeah, you're one person who doesn't annoy me and I like talking to," I shoot him a kind smile. He pats a seat next to him.
"Good to know," I take the seat next to him, having a genuine smile on my face. "Take these for free," He hands me my card back.
"I can't," I laugh. "Charge me,"
"No, or okay." I give him a confused but interested look. "You have to hang out with me for a bit, that's how you can pay me,"
"Sounds like a deal," I chuckle. "You're getting ripped off," I grab my laptop bag and open it up taking out my computer.
"Wow you look hot even in sweats," He mumbles under his breath. I turn to look at him, seeing his eyes eyeing me up and down, he then notices and tries to play it off.
"Sorry I have to turn these things in real quick," I tell him. Quickly sending them to my boss. I yawn and take a swig of my iced coffee.
"How long have you been up for? It's kind of early,"
"I was working all night for these articles. I never get a break, I hate my job in all honesty," I let out a sad chuckle. "Wait I didn't mean that, i'm lucky I got this job and at a young age," I catch myself.
"It seems like you are way overworked. You try to play it off but it's easy to see,"
"Yeah, that's what my mom says. But I need this job, I don't have anyone to take care of me, I take care of people,"
"I would take care of you,"
"Hm?"
"Nothing, if you're needing a more quiet place to work you can go in the back room for a bit. It's peaceful,"
"That sounds nice, thanks," He points to the back and I head back. There is a couch with a little table in the front and I put my computer there. But before I know it, my eyes feel droopy and I fell asleep.
I open my eyes, scratching them with my hands, noticing that i'm not exactly in the same place I fell asleep.
