"My-My mother?" I questioned, choking on my words a bit.
"Yes, i'm sorry but she isn't in good condition right now, if you can it would be good for you to come back to the hospital," The women suggested. I slowed down my breathing, trying not to overwork myself and have a breakdown.
"Of course, thank you for informing me, I will be there soon," I told her, hanging up. "Keishin, I think it's important that we go back to the hospital. That phone call was from them, regarding my mother. But let's not inform my brother just yet, until we truly know what the problem is," I explained to him, starting to pack up some things.
"Yes, okay, are you okay y/n?" Keishin asked, helping me pick some more of our things up.
"I'll be fine, let's just get going," I got everything else put away and we made our way to the car. Once sitting in the passenger seat, I couldn't help but shake my knee a bit. My anxiety was getting to me, maybe I should call my brother. What if it was something very important?
Keishin smoothly moved his hand to rest upon my knee, stoping the shaking movement. Tapping his fingers a bit and turning to give me a reassuring look, almost saying everything I needed to hear.
We sat in silence the rest of the ride, but it was peaceful considering the circumstances. Upon arriving at the hospital, I quickly made my way to the front desk.
"Hello, I got a call regarding my mother Miss Sawamura," I told the new woman, taping my fingers on the counter.
"Why yes, your mother has been rushed into surgery. She was having a lot more pain and the doctors figured the best thing would be to look more into the problem. Upon taking another X ray they took her into surgery, finding a new problem and needing to fix it quickly," She informed me. I looked at the name tag, placed on the desk.
"Thank you Miss Chiyo," I thanked her, and made my way back to my mothers room, with Keishin trailing behind me.
"So, you're mother had to go into surgery. Do you know what time she will be out?" Keishin asked once we made it inside her room, him sitting on a open chair.
"I'm going to look," I found the papers in front of the room, doing a quick skim over it and finding she should be out in about three hours. "Three hours,"
"Dear sister, OH Y/N!" A women yelled, swinging her arms around me and squeezing me tight. I quickly pulled her hands off of me, taking a few steps back to match the familiar voice with a picture.
"Aunt Kaori? It has been a little bit," I commented, looking at the now older woman. She still had flawless skin and her eccentric style. She was a bit younger than my mother and always tried to be one of the 'cool' aunts.
"It's me, I don't look a day over 24 correct? Wow, you look so much more grown, developed?" She questioned, moving closer and scanning my body.
"That's enough," I muttered, choking on some spit.
"Y/n, introduce me to this handsome devil," My aunt mentioned, now almost on top of Keishin.
"No thank you," I told her, pulling her hand back to give him some space. "He's a little young for you. But are you hear for my mother? You got the news about her being sick once again, she is currently in surgery," I told her, sitting at the bottom of her bed.
"Why yes, when I heard one of my beloved sisters wasn't doing so good, I had to come and make sure she was okay. The family sends there regards, not being able to check up on her,"
"Ah, well that's kind of them I guess. Now why don't you come back later, when Mother is back and she can't speak to us," I told her, motioning for Keishin to move by me.
My aunt soon left, giving a little kiss on the cheek to my boyfriend. I chatted with Keishin a bit, waiting and hoping the time would be up soon.
After waiting for a while the three hours were done and my mother was finished with surgery. The doctors explained all that happened, and suggested to come back in another hour when she would be able to have a chat with us.
During the hour Ukai and I made our way to a little fast food place near by and made the call to my younger brother, regarding my mother. I told him just what happened but not to worry so much and get some rest.
When going back to my mothers room, my aunt was already there, talking up a storm with the older woman.
"Y/n, Keishin is it? It's great to see the both of you. Keishin, why don't you go home now? I'll take care of my niece," My aunt told him, grabbing my hand and pulling me closer to her.
"I don't mind, I truly don't have a lot going on," He told her, scratching his neck a bit.
"You should Keishin, you have been helping me so much. It would be good for you to get some rest and take a break, I really do appreciate it," I told him, giving him a hug. He just nodded, and gave me a little kiss on the forehead making his way out.
"Good! Now your mother and I were talking about her condition and all of that boring sad stuff," My aunt rolled her eyes, then chuckling, while she sat me next to her.
"Yes, what were you two talking about,"
"Well sweetie," My mother started. "The doctor informed me that I only have around ten months left of my life,"
I almost broke at the words. I was overjoyed that she was okay at the moment, but knowing that she would pass soon. That wasn't a great feeling.
"Mother, are-are you okay?"
"I'll be okay," She gave a kind smile with glassy eyes. "We can talk about the sad things later. Don't worry about that, it's just good we have time together. But your aunt brought up a point that I thought and somewhat agree with,"
"What is it?" I asked hesitantly.
"YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!" My aunt yelled, throwing her hands over me once again.
"Huh?!"
