So to everybody tuning in thank you so much! This is the review for the next 100 pages for Mariah Carey's new memoir And bye the way if you are looking for something chic an fabulous, that speaks to your mind then check out my new clothing an accessory page B.V.F! (www.bvfstore.org)

Ok lets get into this chapter, in this part Mariah really goes in depth about how her career started....she was starting out singing background for Brenda K Starr who had her song out "I Still Believe" and when Mariah auditioned she sang the song better than her! Brenda then took her on an they became close, taking her to industry parties and introducing her to various big whigs in the industry. Brenda not only gave her a steady job but a chance to show off her vocals, I loved the part when Brenda was at this festival in LA and asked Mariah to sing, normally an artist would never do that, let the background singer steal the show, but I think Brenda knew Mariah was special and her determination to be a singer impressed her. She took young Mariah to around a lot of people in the industry and they all wanted Mariah's songs, but Mariah held on to them because she knew her worth! An that kinda registered with me, don't just take any offer and settle, know you're worth if it means waiting a while longer for that dream cause as Mariah proves later, it was worth it! Now a side note....Brenda and Mariah aren't cool anymore I think when Mariah started out she was cool with her, but when Mariah sold millions, song of the decade, best selling artist of the decade and all her achievements  I think Brenda got jealous, and she actually showed that back in 2015 or so when she talked shit about Mariah on twitter and the Lambs attacked her for it, just comes to show you that your "mentor" can be a hater too. Then on to the 1989 industry party, Mariah almost had a deal with Warner Brothers and she was close to signing it but, fate would have it, Tommy Mottola took Mariah's demo tape out of some CEO's hand and left, and the next morning Mariah got a voicemail from Tommy....and that day she signed the contract and the rest is music history! Her debut album..4 number ones, 15,000,000 worldwide sales, her second album, did okay an had a few hits, but her Unplugged live album sold substantially well and her 6th number one hit "Ill Be There"! But Mariahs biggest accomplishment was most personal to her, in 1993 the year Music Box (her 4th album) came out, Mariah performed at the Proctor theatre, singing "Hero" for the first time, and she felt the love from her fans and realized wow....i'm famous! An Music Box became her best selling album of her career selling 30,000,000 worldwide! And reading Mariahs road to success from tortured girl on Long Island to mega superstar, its a testament which inspires me too that no matter what life throws at you, never loose sight of your vision!

But Mariahs relationship with Tommy was something else......she told many times how Tommy was controlling and everything, like how a boy sent her some fan mail an Tommy tore it up an threw it in the fire! And how the big house they built in fact was like a prison she called "Sing Sing", she even quoted "I lingered in the stall to luxuriate in my fleeting moment of peace".....Basically said the only time she was to herself an can hear her thoughts was in the bathroom, or in the manor taking a long bath. Tommy had surveillance cameras in the house too, and Mariah even said wedding was a relationship of convenience , her girlfreinds tried to talk her out of it but she kinda felt, that marrying this powerful man would change him in a way an it might be at least bearable, still have a lasting professional relationship like Clive an Whitney. This is something a lot of women, and sometimes gay men, be thinking that...if we get married or if I stick it out a lil longer he'll change and usually thats where the abuse of any form starts. You becoming conditioned to his crap and its hard to leave because of fear, fear of losing that business you made with him or the family you created with him, and it dont really bother you till it hits your soul in a powerful way, and you realize I must leave him! An as the next 100 pages progress we'll get more into the dysfunction tween Tommy and Mariah and the breaking point which made her leave the marriage! So stay tuned for that review and i'll be back!
