Mohsin*

"Mohsin!" shouted Muta'alib. "Mohsin!"

I looked at Muta'alib as my leg trembled with pain. I commanded him to escape. He wouldn't listen. My leg was aching so much. The israeli tanks were turning in the opposite direction, heading for the town of Jabaliya, thinking I was dead. As I shut my eyes tightly, hoping that this was all just one BIG nightmare, "Mohsin! Please Get Up!", cried Muta'alib as I tried to pull myself back up. Muta'alib crept towards me slowly, hoping the israeli tanks wouldn't turn back.

I grabbed onto Muta'alib as I put my shivering arm on his shoulder, for support. The child was on the other side, pleading for water. Even though my leg was aching, we quickly ran for shelter. "Stay here", Muta'alib whispered as his eyes caught something. Muta'alib slowly crawled towards a peice of clothing that lay in the corner in the pile of debrie. He grabbed hold of it as he rushed back to me."This is just for now," he said, as he wrapped it around my leg.

I thanked him but also remindered him that the child was thirsty. So Muta'alib checked his small bag that lay near me and found a quarter bottle of water. He opened up the bottle and handed it to the child. The gulping sound of the child made me feel so thirsty as well, but the child was smaller than me and he looked as if he needed the whole bottle for himself.

"Lets go to my mama!" I said to Muta'alib. "Its to dangerous at this time. Let's wait for a while until the night arrives. Then it will be harder for the israelis to capture us." Muta'alib replied.

This was going to be a very scary night.
