We spent most of the next 2 weeks home and getting packed since we were moving the following week.
We decided to donate a good majority of the furniture that Cody brought when he first got the house and it was time to give it to someone else and start over.
I had spent the entire day packing up the kitchen and Cody was outside on a few business calls.
Madi called me while I packed and she was talking about Corey and the wedding which they postponed for a few months because of covid.
"We should go to the new house tonight and get drunk I'll leave Haevyn and the dogs with Cody and Corey we need a break." I said laughing and she agreed.
"Honestly that works Corey should be home around 8 so we can go over then." She said and I nodded.
I turned around to see if Cody was still outside and I went to close the slider and he just looked up at me and back to his computer.
"Cody has been acting so weird this week." I said and Madi looked at the phone confused.
"In what way, are you guys fighting?" She said and I sighed.
"No I mean we're good but it's off he's just been outside most of the days while I go and pack and he'll do the little things that I've been asking him to help me with at night and "gets tired" we haven't had sex since the day we got the keys from the house." I said just as he opened the slider and walked in as Kota followed him.
"Everything ok?" He asked and I knew he heard the last part.
"Yeah Madi and Corey are gonna come over once coreys home and Madi and I are going to go to the house and have a few drinks and talk." I said smiling and he just nodded and walked towards the couch.
"Can you bring Haevyn?" He asked in a snarky voice and I scoffed.
"Uh I'll see you later alright." I said and we both said goodbye before I hung up and joined Cody on the couch and tried to sit next to him.
"They'll be over around 8 Haevyn will be asleep she was up all of last night and the night before she'll be tired." I said and he grabbed his phone.
"Cody can you please just have a conversation with me without being on your phone for once since the last 2 weeks." I said and moved so I'm facing him and he put his phone on the table.
"What?" He said rudely.
"Alright you're clearly done with this conversation and it's not worth ruining the rest of my night. You've been acting weird will barely talk to me unless it has to do with Haevyn you won't touch me you stay up and go to bed after I'm asleep and for one night after I've been up with her every night so far this week I ask for a break that's it I have no idea why you're being snarky and there's no way I could have done anything wrong because you have barely talked to me." I said and got up taking Haevyn and going to feed her and I eventually ordered dinner.
After I ate I took kota for a walk after putting Haevyn down for bed and came back home to get ready.
I said hi to Corey and gave him a hug once they came over and Madi and I grabbed the alcohol before saying bye and heading out to the car.
We eventually made it to the house which now had a few pieces of furniture but most of the stuff wasn't even put together.
We grabbed 2 chairs and brought them outside and opened up the wine.
"I needed this." I said and set down the now empty bottle onto the cemented ground.
"I'm so tired and the new season hasn't even started I don't know if the reason he's being an asshole is because he hasn't played baseball, he's away from his family I don't even know everyday is literally just on repeat now." I said and Madi wrapped an arm around me.
"Hey it will get figured out you both just need to sit down and have an actual conversation without running away from each other. Who knows what he might say." She said and we continued talking and opened up another bottle knowing we both were passed the point of being able to drive back once almost 1 am came around.
"I'll call Cody I can always come and pick up my car tomorrow." I said and Madi nodded.
I pressed on Cody's contact and it rang a few times before he answered.
"Ya." He said making me roll my eyes.
"Can you come and pick us up please I'll pick up my car tomorrow." I said and waited for his response.
"Ya." He said again.
"Alright thanks." I said and he hung up.
"Great feeling when not even your husband wants to talk with you." I said and Madi hugged me.
After 20 minutes we heard a car pull into the driveway and we both headed out as I locked the door.
We walked around the corner of the house to see Corey sitting in the drivers seat of the car and Cody wasn't in there with him.
I gave him a slight smile trying not to be rude and I hopped into the back seat.
"Hey." Madi said and kissed him.
"Cody's still playing call of duty." He said and sent me a smile knowing something was up.
"Was he acting normal?" I asked honestly trying not to cry.
"Ya we had a beer and sat outside for a while and then hopped on with the boys nothing out of the ordinary. Haevyn was asleep the whole time." He said and I nodded looking out the window.
"Are you guys hungry?" He asked and Madi nodded.
We stopped at McDonald's and went through the drive thru and headed back to the house.
He pulled into the driveway and looked back at me.
"Thank you guys and thank you for the food." I said and messed up coreys hair making him laugh before giving Madi a quick hug through the console.
"Hey if you need anything call us." She said and Corey nodded.
"I will thank you." I said and got out of the car grabbing my stuff and walked up to the front door and walked inside.
Cody had his headset on and I sent him a smile which wasn't returned and walked upstairs.
I got changed and took off my makeup and brushed my teeth before I got into bed and plugged in my phone before I started crying.
