Dewin cast Fire as soon as he could. The fireball zoomed up into the air and hit the speeding beast. To Dewin's dismay, however, the spell didn't do any damage. In fact, the lion seemed to grow in power, ferocity, and speed, as if the fireball had energized it.
'Oh, heck,' said Dewin as there was no more time to cast another spell.
The fiery winged lion dived into Dewin, grabbing a hold of him, and ripped his neck out with precision.
