She just ran out. Did I say something wrong? Was I supposed to know who she was?

This feeling hung in my heart, kind of like an ache but more like a longing for someone I knew I loved but I-er I'm not sure who.
She looked a little frustrated but honestly she looked more upset like she knew me, almost as if her heart beat for me.
All the pain came flooding in all at once, I let out an excruciatingly loud scream whilst mother led beside me, she whispered " I wish it were me then you would've never forgotten her," almost like she thought I wouldn't hear her, almost like she remembered something I'd forgotten but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

I woke up the next day in the hospital, on my own. A few hours later mother and father strolled in calmly almost as if nothing had happened.
"Where were you?" I asked angrily.
"Oh erm we were just getting coffee son," he insisted.
"Okay," I said confused. I knew he was lying, they'd never lied to me before but this, this was different this was bigger than anything they'd done before.
This hurt more. They never came back with coffee but they did come back with guilt.
They knew something was wrong and they wouldn't tell me, I was starting to get exasperated, like they knew I would start to recall what happened but not for a while atleast like they had a free pass because they were my parents.

"Always and forever I guess." I sighed regretfully.
