While on a hunt with the boys, you and Dean stay behind to do some research while Sam goes for a walk. You think you see something in the mirror and Dean assures you there's nothing there.

You are like a sister to both of them

I sigh heavily as I fall back on to the bed, bored out of my mind. At the sound of my over dramatic fall, Dean lifts his head from his dad's journal. He chuckles lightly as I try to blow a strand of hair out of my face. "What's up with you?" He asks, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I'm bored" I whine. "Well, come help me with the case then" He replies with a shrug. I frown "Can't we just, you know, have a day off or something?". He sighs "A job like this, a day off could cost someone's life". I sit up, leaning on my hands "I know. Hey, where's Sam?". "Oh, he went out with some girl" He replies sarcastically. I raise an eyebrow "With a girl? That doesn't sound like him". He chuckles, shaking his head "Don't worry, he just went for a walk. He'll be fine". I nod "Right". He goes back to the journal and a slightly uncomfortable silence fills the room. Well, for me. Not because I'm not comfortable with Dean, just because I don't like silence. Ever since I started hunting with Sam and Dean, silences like this kinda makes me feel a bit paranoid. I sigh quietly, rubbing my arm nervously "I-I'll be back in a minute". He nods dismissively as I make my way into the bathroom. I lock the door before putting my now shaking hands on the edge of the sink. I gulp quietly, closing my eyes to concentrate on my breathing. After about five minutes, I open my eyes only to see someone, or thing, staring at me in the mirror.

I can't help but scream, which I assume caught the attention of Dean as I hear him call my name. I unlock the door and open it before launching myself at him. He stumbles back a bit, but is able to steady himself. I hug him around the waist and hide behind him. He furrows his eyebrows "Y/n, what's wrong?". "I… I d-don't know! J-just go see" I splutter. "Okay, okay" He sighs. I reluctantly let go of him and he goes into the bathroom. Not two seconds later, he stands in the doorway and as if to make a point, he spreads his arms out "Nothing here, sweetheart. See?". I frown "Are you sure?". He nods "Yes, I'm sure. Come here, you're just paranoid". He puts his arms around me for a hug. I sigh, resting my head on his shoulder "But, Dean-". I feel him rub my arm comfortingly "Nothing's here, y/n. I promise. I know you might think you saw something, but you didn't. It's just your mind playing tricks on you, happens all the time to me and Sammy". I look at him and he smiles reassuringly. "Are you absolutely certain there's nothing there?" I frown. "Cross my heart" He replies softly. I sigh "Okay". My heart rate finally slows down a bit. "Hey, why don't we do something else for while?" He offers, still sensing my discomfort. I nod "Okay".

I sit back down on the bed. "C-Can you close the door?" I sigh nervously. He smiles slightly "Sure". He moves to close the bathroom door and then he walks over to the other bed to sit down too. "Dean-" I start, but he interrupts me "Y/n, I swear on my life. Nothing's here, okay?". I sigh "It just... it looked so real. I don't even know why I imagined it was there". He smiles slightly, then he moves to the bed I'm sitting on "It happens to the best of us". I frown "So, what do you do?". He shrugs "I ignore it, mostly". I sigh "That's easy for you to say". He takes my hand and gently squeezes it "Y/n, I know it isn't easy. But even if something was there, you know I would protect you". I smile slightly "I know".

"Now, what do you say to watching Scooby Doo until Sam gets back?" He grins. I chuckle "I say, hells yeah!". He gets the remote and the thoughts of researching and monsters disappear from my brain as we watch our favourite cartoon
