Part 3:Chapter 4

We made it to the center of the city where more people were out. We walked through the park and over the bridge trying to make sense of everything that was happening. It's been 12 years since we were attacked. We were put on ice and who knows what. Michael is missing. There were so many things going on in my head. As we were walking, I saw glimpses of images flash through my head but it was too fast for me to make out. I look at Selene and saw that she had slowed her pace. "Selene?" I called out to her softly. She turned to the railing of the bridge and gripped it as she stared out into the road below "Selene, what is it?" She closed her eyes for a minute before sirens sounded behind us, coming closer before two police cars speed off.

"Let's go" She jumped off the bridge and I follow in suit before we both took off after the cars. We followed the cars to an active crime scene. We got to high ground to see everything better but to also stay hidden. From what I could see was that it was a murder investigation. What caught my eye was that the lead detective was fighting his partner about rather it was a lycan attack or not. Even from a distance, I could see that he was sad about something but what? I don't know. Something happened here and I want to know what it was. I looked at Selene across the way before looking back at the crime scene and the crowd. For some reason, I felt like something was about to happen. I don't know if it was good or bad yet but I know something other than this was going to change my life. "Iris, let's go" Selene whispered to me, bringing me out of my thoughts. I nodded and we both jumped down off of the bridge. " I want to know why that scientist let us go and I want to know what are they after." She told me as we walked away from the scene. "We're going after the scientist first. I'm tired of being hunted."

"Selene what do you think did all of this? If I didn't know any better I would say either Michael or a Lycan did this" I started to pull my overgrown hair into a high pony-tail.

"I don't know but I intend to find out." We both were on the move after the scientist.

*Time Skip*

We have been watching the man since he got out of Antigen. All the way to his apartment. When he got into his apartment I decided to go ahead and get into the apartment before he got there while Selene follows him up the stairs. I get on the top of the stairs in his apartment and waited. After a couple of minutes, he finally came home. I watched as he hung his coat and was heading into another room when he saw me. "What's up, Doc?" I asked with an angered face. He looked at me terrified but looked away when Selene busted the door down. I jumped behind him when he went to look back at me, it seemed as though I vanished. He turned his head back to where Selene once was only to find her gone as well before she appeared right in front of him. I grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed him against the window before she took over and pinned him to the glass by his neck.

"The prisoner that helped us escape, the one you call Subject 2," she pushed him harder against the glass that it started to crack under the pressure. "Was it a hybrid?" she asked him as she continued to press harder.

"Yes," he strained out while gripping her hand.

I pulled out my dagger and aimed it at his eye. "What were you doing with us?" he looked at me terrified and started to turn blue as Selene tighten her grip.

"We...We help the government identify the infected" he strained out. "We were using your DNA to try and find a cure, to prevent another outbreak" I scoffed at the notion.

"You were told that we would lead you to the hybrid," Selene said in a rough voice.

"Why?" I asked glaring at him. 'Something isn't right. If Michael was the one who let us out, he would have stayed and fought off the ones who held us captured just to make sure we all made it out of there' I thought to myself.

The man was panting and his eyes showed fear and defiance. That just wouldn't do. "Subject 2 is restricted information." He yelled at us. "I don't have the clearance." he lied to us.

"You're lying. I hope you can fly doc" I said as I felt my eyes glowed brightly. Selene pulled him forwards and smashed him through the glass. He started to plea for his life almost immediately.

"All I know is that there's a strong connection between you," He said looking at her before turning to me. "and a minor one with you. Your brain waves fall into sync whenever you're close to each other." Selen started to growl at him. "You can see through each other's eyes."

'How is that possible? We were never able to do that before.' I thought to myself

"Please don't" He begged. "I'm the one who let you go."

"Now we're even," Selene told him before letting him go. We watched him fall for a while before jumping out of the window and landed next to his body.

I looked at his body before closing my eyes and saying "Sorry" to him and sheathed my dagger. I may not have trusted him but I wasn't heartless. After I did so, I walked to my sister when suddenly I started to see images flash in my head. "U-7" I whispered to myself before turning my head towards the road next to the alley and saw a police car driving by with its sirens on. "Selene" I yelled before running.

"I know" She runs next to me chasing the car. As we were running I couldn't help but feel like someone was watching us. 'Why do I feel like this?'

~Hello my little rabbits and mad hatters. Guess who's following the girls. I am so excited for the next chapter. Gotta say I had a fictional crush on David. Tbh he was one of the main good things in this movie. Thank you for the comments and understanding of what I mean by saying that Awakening is going to be hard to write for. Heads up, things at home have been less than good. Tight on money and such so if I don't show up for a while I'm sorry. I am not giving this story up. I love the underworld series and writing brings me joy. I love you guys and please keep leaving me comments. I read every one of them and I actually enjoy what you have to say.
