I was sat next to Chelsea on one of the steps in Union Square facing her.

We planned a day out on the weekend before her wedding, finalizing everything to be ready for that Wednesday. It was already July, half a year since Spain.

"Is it possible to love two people at the same time?" She asks as she adjusts her sunglasses.

I shift a little.

"I doubt that."

"I think that... You love Neymar, I'm sure you do, but it's lingering love, it's about already gone. Now, James-"

"What about James?" I almost snap.

"I knew from the moment you spoke his name that you were madly in love with him. Although you might say it's over and done with, that love is still deep, deep, inside you."

I begin to grind my teeth at what she's saying. I shake my head a little, fully comprehending what she has just spoken and trying to ignore the truth in it.

"Why are we talking about this?"

"I was thinking maybe you could invite Neymar or James to the wedding," she begins to laugh and I swat her arm. "Hey, I haven't seen that ring on you in forever!"

"Here's the thing, I'm over the dwelling. I loved Spain and everyone in it, I can shout it from the rooftops. Definitely the greatest time of my life," I explain.

"Aw," Chelsea starts. "Good for you. I'm happy for you."

"And I'm happy for you!" I cheer trying to change the subject. "You are going to be a married woman in four days!"

"I know! I can't believe it," she smiles widely. "We were thinking honeymoon in Paris, London, or Greece."

"Marcelo invited me to Paris," I kind of fail at changing the subject. "August, next month. Some of the guys from the national team and the clubs are going."

"You should go," she smiles.

"Nah," I shake my head. "I think I'm gonna skip this one."

"If you say so," she shrugs. "Listen I've been meaning to talk to you."

I get a feeling of what she's going to say next.

"I've known you for almost ten years and I met you far before the rest of the girls," Chelsea begins with a grin on her face. "And I love you deeply, Kat. I was wondering if you would like to be my maid of honor."

"Yes!" I begin to jump in my seat a little. "What took you so long?" I almost laugh and hug her.

"I didn't want to devastate the other girls for so long," she laughs.

"Now I have so little time for your bachelorette party tonight," I smile and make her laugh.

Wednesday comes rolling around soon enough and I find myself locked in a hotel room with my best friends as we finalize our hair and make up.

"I'm gonna pass out," Vivian speaks, hand on her chest. "I'm going to fall, I just know it."

I'm sat on the edge of the bed with a smile as I take in the group of girls.

"Okay, okay," Chelsea speaks. "You guys, we have like two minutes left. Time for the dress."

Chelsea leaves to go into another room and a minute later she comes back in her wedding dress.

We all have our jaws on the floor as we stare at her.

"How do I look?"

Squeals escape all our mouths as we walk towards her to hug her.
