Back at camp koipaw couldn't shake the feeling that she had gotten both her sister and Firepelt in trouble she glanced toward the great rock where here mother was interrogating her sister and salmon nose, every now and then she could here some cat tail their voice and yowl in frustration, she decided to try and sleep off her heavy emotions.
Padding heavily to the reeds where the apprentices slept she lay down on her own moss nest and closed her eyes.
Her sleep was dreamless and dark it felt like her eyes had only just closed when she heard Swallowpaw trotting into the den with tears in her eyes .
Outside the reeds she saw salmon nose sauntering off to his den with a maliciously cruel grin.
"Swallowpaw?" Koipaw mewed gently "are you all right?"
Swallowpaw  birdied her muzzle deep into her moss bedding and remained silent other than a few feeble buffs and shudders.
The next morning she woke up and Swallowpaw was already leaving for patrol when koipaw stumbled out of the den. She made an advance toward her sister before she left but was interrupted by Firepelt enthusiasticly bouncing around her "we are going to battle training todayyyyyyy!" Firepelt sang loud enough for the whole camp to hear
Koipaw crouched in slight embarrassment when heads turned to her and fire pelt
The awkwardness didn't last long as the awkward silence was interrupted by finfoot ,a close friend of Firepelt ,yowled across camp "can we come" Firepelt purred with amusement at his attempt to break the quiet .
Of course
Pufferpaw , finfoots apprentice, was a young polite she-cat with long silver tabby fur and clear green eyes which seemed to contrast the palate icy coat of finfoor and his dark brown tipped paws muzzle and tail.
The group all trotted out of camp making conversation to each other but, still koipaw couldn't help but wish Swallowpaw was here rather than puffed paw
In the sandy training area koipaw
Was truly given a higher respect for her mentor when she watched Firepelt toss and turn rolling in the sand with finfoot
My mentor is amazing thought koipaw
Eventually Firepelt had pinned finfoot the the ground and both were panting heavily
Finfoot turned to the two apprentices and mewed now your turn.
Koipaw stepped nervously into the arena but then smelt something unfamiliar
He smell reeked like crow food and was bitter to the toung
She pointed it out to her mentor and instantly
Firepelts fur bushes up to twice it's dive and a spark of rage and fear at the same time she whispered something to finfoot he too had the same reaction both apprentices cowered in fear at what has scared their mentors like this.
