Chapter 1

I cleaned the counter at the grill as I waited for Caroline to come.

I looked up to see Klaus and his brother Kol coming over.

I raced to the other side taking a couple's order.

"Just a beer and a salad." The man ordered.

"Alright that'll be 10.55." I told him as he nodded.

He handed me the money as I handed him his beer.

"Your salad will be ready in 5." I told his girlfriend who nodded.

I headed back to the register as I saw Caroline talking to Klaus.

"Cass hurry up please." Caroline groaned.

I smiled as Klaus and Kol looked at me.

"Just need to finish this order." I said going back to the couple.

"Here's your change and your salad have a nice night." I said.

"Thank you Clarissa." The women said.

I nodded taking off my apron than jumped over the counter.

"Finally!" Caroline said as I wrapped my arm around her shoulder laughing.

I walked along a falling down tree balancing on it.

I finally got away from Caroline who was babbling about Klaus.

"If you hate him so much than don't sleep with the prick." I said.

I stopped at the end of the tree to see it was off of a cliff.

It started falling as I saw a tree I jumped to the other side grabbing the tree.

I pushed myself off landing on to the ground.

I breathed heavily as I rested my head on the ground.

"That was quit a show." Kol's voice said as I shot up.

"Stay away." I said staying in place.

"And why would I do that?" He asked as I bit my lip.

"Cause. I have...a...yeah I got nothing." I said before walking away.

"C'mon love, Fancy a drink with me?" Kol asked following me.

"With you no I'm good." I said as I pushed up against a tree.

Kol looked me in the eyes ready to compel me.

"Lets go for a drink." Kol said as I smiled.

"How about...you get a drink and i'll leave." I said pushing him away walking once again.

"But, I compelled...how did it not work?!" Kol asked as I laughed.

"Maybe, your not as bad as you think!" I told him before heading off.

Kol's POV:

I fell on the couch staring at the ground.

"Kol are you alright?" Rebekah asked as I looked up.

"It didn't work." I said.

"What didn't work?" Elijah asked.

"I compelled her but she wasn't compelled." I said.

"Compelled who?" Rebekah asked.

"Clarissa Forbes." I said again.

"I asked for a drink than she said I should get one. It didn't work how did it not work?" I asked them.

"No idea." Elijah said going back to his book.

I sighed throwing my head back with a groan.
