The news were spread around the corps about his death and everyone was devastated when they heard it, but had to stay strong and kept fighting.

I wasn't really close with the pillar, but he was a respectable comrade. His cheerful and kind personality was admirable too.

I gritted my teeth as I sat alone in my estate after hearing the news, waiting till they sent me a mission. And they did.

I quickly stood up and stomped out of my estate, going to where I was sent for a mission. Caw was silently flying above me, knowing I shouldn't be disturbed at the moment.

Veins were visible on my skin and face, showing just how frustrated I was. I didn't expect for him to die, I was planning to make sure no one did.

But I can't bring him back now. I mean I can, I just don't think he'd want to even be a demon and would rather die than be one.

'If I were there, could I have saved him? If I came with them on their mission, could no one have been hurt? If I-' I stopped my train of thought, glaring at nothing. 'No, no. The one who killed him was an upper moon demon... He could've reported my betrayal to Muzan if I were there... Can they telepath?'

I tilted my head up at the towards sky, the warmth of the sun caressing my face, contrasting to the dark atmosphere around me.

I went back to my estate after finishing the mission and I noticed how everyone is getting busier and more people are getting injured.

I would show up in Muzan's fortress every now and then and see what they were planning. Disappointingly, they rarely do meetings so I don't know much of their plans. They would ask me about the Blue Spider Lily and if I've found it, but ofcourse I would say no.

"Aww, I thought you finally did~!" Douma cooed, sitting comfortably on the floor and staring up at me while I stood. "You've been living for a long time, no? Then why don't you search for it too."

"We all are, but none of us had found a single one." He pouts, wrapping his arms around my waist like a child, still sitting on the floor.

'That's because they only bloom during the day, numbskull.' I sighed and tried prying him off me. "Nooooo~" He whined and tightened his grip. I rolled my eyes at him.
