Day Fifteen: Song

This is the craziest poem I've ever written! xD It's supposed to be from a cowboy to the girl he loves, and lyrics and titles of country songs seem to be his main inspiration. Nonetheless, I hope you get a laugh out of it, and feel free to leave a comment naming any and all of the songs that are incorporated in this piece that you recognized. c;

This is country music, every world that I say

'Til the lights go out in Georgia and I'm blown away

Until I see you again, you good little girl

This is not just a dream, this is the world

Stuck like glue when the thunder rolls

I pray for you as the beer takes its toll

But I'm drinkin' with Jesus, so that's all right

When he takes the wheel, I don't fight

Something bad always happens when I'm speedin' along

Stuck on you and singing our song

You belong with me, that much is true

When I'm lonely and drunk, I need you

If you die young, they'll be digging two

For I'm goin' nowhere without you

Drivin' along in those Cadillacs of black

They'll always want to go back

Country girl, I know this don't make no sense

See, we boys 'round her aren't poets, yes?

I hope it makes you laugh, and never cry

For only then, I know, will you be mine
