Feyre
"So it seems to be common knowledge among the other High Lords and Ladies, that we're housing foreigners," Rhys told them all at breakfast. "And that we've also been attacked twice."
"Times were so much easier when Velaris was a secret, and when people didn't know where we lived," Cassian grumbled as drank his water.
Rhys just nodded his head in agreement.
"And now they are all demanding that we have the High Lord meeting in two days, in light of the recent events. I think we can all blame Beron for calling the meeting," Rhys said smoothly.
"And everybody else agrees to the meeting too?" Amren asked, Varian next to her at the long dining room table. Rhys had put more wards around the house after the attack, and they all reassured Bryce and Aelin that the Ilken wouldn't dare attack the house if Rhys was back home.
"Yep, Tamlin might even show up, which is a good thing because we need answers," Rhys said smoothly. "And I've already agreed to the meeting, it's going to be at Dawn Court."
The most neutral court amongst them.
Bryce didn't say anything and just picked at her food. She had been quiet ever since Hunt was taken, and Feyre had felt that if she was her in her world, she would've been searching the world for him.
But Bryce didn't know anyone here, and most people wouldn't help her especially since she was demi-Fae.
"You guys are welcomed to join us if you would like. There's just a bull shit rule about no killing anyone, so Aelin, you wouldn't be allowed to kill Tamlin," Rhys said smoothly. They had all stayed at the manor that night, with their guests not really having anywhere else to go. Feyre was happy to provide sanctuary to them, especially considering Rhys and the others did the same for her six years ago.
"Are you sure that's a good idea? Beron or Tamlin might try to claim them again," Mor asked carefully.
"The whole claiming thing is bullshit. We're not even from this world," Aelin spat, Fenrys humming in agreement.
"That's precisely why they might try and claim you guys. Because you don't belong to any court, and arrived in their territories. They'll probably just go on about how they belong to them and other bullshit. But they wouldn't try and forcibly take you, not if you guys are here," Rhys said smoothly, as Aelin raised an eyebrow.
"Rhys is considered to be the most powerful High Lord in history," Amren clarified. "They wouldn't try to take you guys if Rhys says that you're under his protection, for fear of him and starting a war."
"And you guys are of course are free to go whenever you want. You just probably wouldn't find many allies outside of this city," Rhys stated. That much was true. Aelin, Rowan and Fenrys might be ok, because they were Fae. But Bryce would have to deal with Fae assholes not liking someone who is half human. They just nodded in thanks.
"We'll go with you guys," Aelin stated. "I have questions for Tamlin." Because Tamlin took her family's sword and kidnapped her mate. Just to disappear to fulfill whatever deal he made.
"I'll also go," Bryce commented, some of the few words that she has said since Hunt. "I don't have anything better to be doing." Rhys just nodded, already knowing that the rest of their inner circle would want to go.
There's a good chance that Tamlin will be there, Rhys sent down the bond. Do you still want to come?
I'm going, Feyre send back. I can deal with him.
