a/n can we acknowledge their height difference lmaoo. i literally love these two with my whole heart

renee had been staying at randy's house for the last week and a half. she was happy to be there. her and randy's marriage was slowly starting to feel real. he made her feel needed and wanted and that was the best thing she could've asked for.

it was the first day in the second week that they both had a day off together. renee wanted to take advantage of that. "we have to do something."

"why can't we just stay like this?" he groaned, squeezing her tighter than before. they had spent the entire morning cuddled up on the couch watching movies. she was now sat in his lap and he was quite happy with the position they were in.

"we can when we come home."

"home?" he asked with bright eyes. she had never called it home before. he felt his heart flutter when she nodded. he squeezed her tightly again making her laugh.

"let's go to the farmers market."

"farmers market?" he asked. he didn't even know boston had one of those.

"yeah, today is the last day because they're closing it since summer is over." she explained and he nodded, still not convinced enough to actually go. "please! i promise when we come back, we can cuddle as much as you want.." she trailed off. "after i bake my pie." she mumbled.

"what was that?"

"nothing, can we go? please, please, please, ple-"

"fine!" he said, finally giving in. she cheered happily before running upstairs to go change. she wore a yellow sundress with flats. shortly after they were both ready they headed out to the market. and surely, renee was right, it was the last day of the market and it was deserted.

"we need peaches, strawberries and apples," she told him and he nodded. "oh! and cherries!"

"uh, i'm allergic to cherries." he laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.

"that's literally adorable. look at you all grown and one strawberry can be lethal." she teased making him roll his eyes. she held his hand as they grabbed a basket and started their walk around the market. "any other allergies i should know about?"

"uh, avocados and peanuts." he explained and she bit back a laugh. "oh also bees."

"don't worry husband, i'll protect you from the evil bees." she teased as she picked up four peaches. he wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing himself into her back.

"you think you're so funny." he mumbled in her ear making her giggle.

"well, well, well. if it isn't the world's worst couple." they hear from behind them. renee's face dropped expecting the worst, but was relived to see it was only sasha and seth being annoying.

"nah, that's you." renee fired back and sasha rolled her eyes with a laugh. "what're you doing here?"

"well, i need more kiwi since this guy over here decided it was a good idea to juice them all," she rolled her eyes again at the memory. "go ahead, honey, tell them how that worked out."

"it wen-"

"it went horribly!" sasha said cutting him off. he bowed his head down in shame. "he didn't even peel them and started to panic when it turned brown, then took off the lid without turning of the damn blender."

"i said i was sorry." he mumbled.

"yeah well, sorry isn't going to clean my walls!" she said making renee laugh. seth looked like a little kid who had been caught drawing on his mom's shoes. "well, i'll see you guys later. friday?"

"of course." renee smiles before hugging sasha and seth goodbye. she turned back to randy, interlocking their fingers. he looked down at her with an amused expression. "what?"

"they are literally the perfect math."

"yeah, i'm glad i set them up." she smiled as they continued on their shopping journey. "what about blueberries? will you die if i feed you one?"

"no," he said as she grabbed a bag of them. "and i don't appreciate you bullying me."

"oh please, you bully me all the time."

"it is not my fault you're the size of a mama penguin."

"see!" she said making him laugh. they finished shopping and headed back to his car.

"so, are you ready for my welcoming party on thursday?" he asked her and she nodded with a proud smile. she had gone dress shopping a week ago to make sure she looked perfect.

"i am so excited. i'm going to dress so expensive people will think i'm british."

"huh?" he asked through a laugh. renee always said the weirdest things that made him smile. she had easily become his favourite person. they drove back home and renee ran to the kitchen leaving randy to carry her bags of fruit. "why is this my responsibility?"

"because i said so!" she laughed. "now, which pie should i bake first?"

"strawberry."

"i think you meant blueberry. right?" she smiled innocently as she took the blueberries out of the bag. he shook his head with a cheeky smile. he had learned one thing about renee, she never took life too seriously which is something he needed to learn, in many ways she helped him grow to be a better person.

"well, i'll go shower wh-"

"oh, no you don't. we are baking this together as a couple." she winked, pulling him back into the kitchen by his belt buckle. "grab the flour, rolling pins and a pie dish."

"i don't own any of these things.."

"yes you do. i went shopping yesterday." she smiled up at him as she washed her hands before washing the blueberries.

"you were planning this, weren't you?"

"you bet you ass i was." she laughed with a subtle lip bite before focusing back in washing the berries. after washing the berries she sent randy to wash his hands. she mixed the flour in the bowl. she plopped it down on the counter. "here, come roll this."

"okay." he said confused as to what 'rolling this' meant. he used his hands to knead it.

"no!" she yelled. she grabbed the rolling pin and placed it on the center of the dough. she grabbed both his hands and placed them on either ends of the pin and rolled it out. "like this."

"you have such tiny hands." he chuckles making her rolls her eyes. "i better be getting rewarded for all this labor."

"you are not even doing anything!"

"not true! am i getting a reward or not?"

"how about a slice of pie?" she suggested and he shook his head.

"i was thinking something more along the lines of you." he said, placing his head on her shoulder, kissing her neck making her blush.

'"behave." she giggled as she finished rolling out the dough.

"i don't hear you saying no."

"shut up." she said as she put the rolled out dough into the pie pan. she then turned to look at him leaning back on the island. "are you done flirting yet?"

"with you? never?"
